    Why can't the weather channel just give us weather

    Why?....because they were bought by NBC. When they exclusively covered the weather, I watched all the time. When the new owners decreed that politics and confrontational reality shows were what sold, they fired many of the staff, changed programming...and I quit watching.

    Did that with my dad's pushbutton '56 Plymouth while racing a '55 Ford. If the Drive button wasn't pushed in all the way, the old PowerFlite would go into Reverse, so it happens with automatics also.

    That happened to a guy on our missile launch crew in West Germany in 1960. He had pulled over to let a German armor convoy get by, but one of the tanks drifted over and flattened his '57 Ford from end to end. He had to dive out the passenger door to keep from getting crushed along with the car.
