You could order replacement seat covers from Legendary and replace them yourself. It's not a real hard job to do.

Just lay it on the ground in the sun. You may have to lay some bricks or something on it to hold it down. Once it warms up it should soften up a bit.

Or, you can disconnect the battery. This is really a good standard procedure to follow anytime you are messing around with wiring, especially under the dash.

I've searched around for console installation pics, and so far this is the best I've come up with. This gives me an idea of where to place it, but I'm still clueless on the mounting brackets.

I am going to rip out the original bench seat and install my eBay bucket seats and console this weekend. I got the seats cleaned up last night. Shampoo'd and then steam cleaned them. They don't look too bad, but will need to be re-upholstered at some point. I'll start cleaning up the console...
