    1974 Duster Headliner

Same gasket as the windshield. The headliner tucks inside the lip of the windshield gasket. The other thing that holds it up are the visors and rear view mirror.

    My RetroSound Radio Install

Well maybe the newer model works better. If it wasn't for the mile long wires coming off the back and high pitched constant beeeeeep and goofy volume knob, I probably would have kept it, but it pissed me off so I sent it back. Bluetooth was good, but it didn't automatically pair. Maybe your...

I've thought about that conversion too, but they are pretty pricey. I like Riddler's solution because then you get navigation.

That's awesome! How do you like the Pioneer? I had a Pioneer amp and it sound great until one of the channels went out. I couldn't get support because I bought it on Amazon through a non-authorized retailer. Pissed me off. It turned me off from the brand, but when it worked it did sound...

Do you know where I can get that double din box? My son and I were thinking of building a center under dash console not only for the stereo but also some gauges and thinking of extending the heater vent come out more forward. It was just ideas we were running through.

    My RetroSound Radio Install

-- UPDATE -- Long story, short... I sent it back to Jegs and got my money back. It developed this annoying high pitched beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep that would not go away. Also, the knobs were all funky. I would turn the knobs to set the volume and it would jump back and forth (i.e. turning it...

RetroSound Redondo RS Radio in 1967 Barracuda

Yes, you can get them in chrome too. They have what they call "screen protectors" it's similar to what you would put on your smart phone. The difference is that these "screen protectors" have the overlay printed on it.

The L shaped brackets where the shafts attach? Yeah, they needed to be trimmed. I have a thread some where here with tons of pictures.

So for my constant power, I used the relay box in post #3. That relay box has 2 relays with 3 fuses. 2 fuses are for each of the relays (1 for each relay), and then there's another fuse that is constant power. That relay/fuse box is plugged straight to the battery (actually to the starter relay...

    My RetroSound Radio Install

Yes, definitely. The radio does come with RCA outputs for both front and rear. So you can use the rear RCA outputs to connect to an Amp. There's also an output to turn on Amp as well. It's not bad for what it is. It has great features. The only negative that I see so far is how thin the wires...

Yeah, adjusting the depth and width of the shafts is a time consuming process. Having the spare bezel did save tons of time. My kid always complains that I have too many spare parts, and I always point out these occasions that having spare parts is a good thing. I'm just not sure if I would go...

    My RetroSound Radio Install

This is what I used to wire everything up for a clean install. These kits aren't cheap, but I figured it would be perfect for powering the radio and also powering another device. I got it at 12vconnection on Ebay. Not only does this Littlefuse relay box have two 35 amp relays that are fused bit...

Here's dash speaker bracket assembly with the Kicker 3.5" speakers and how it looks inside the dash from underneath the dash before installing the speakers and bracket. The dash speacker bracket is from @'74 Sport. Note: you won't be able to use the bracing the runs from the heater controls to...

    My RetroSound Radio Install

Hey all! So the kid was bugging me that he wanted a radio of some sort in the Duster. I didn't understand it myself. I mean.... isn't listening to the engine purr enough? Anyway... we started looking at solutions. We definitely didn't want to cut up the dash, and converting the stock AM radio...

Oh, cool. I'll check it out. My son is in the middle of assembling it. UPDATE: I checked out the video, but that was one the thumb rollers. I have the shafts. I did see how they mounted the strap though. That was good to know.

RetroSound Redondo RS Radio in 1967 Barracuda

Hey @dboldt I had a question for you regarding installation. I hope you're still around, since this thread is a bit old. Anyway... Once you had everything (buttons, display, shafts) mounted onto the body of the radio and you put it up into your dash, did you use any nuts on the shafts to...

Custom Center Console / Cup Holders

I don't know what all you just said, but thanks! LOL I think I know what a French seam is. I just hope I got a fair deal. Seems a little expensive, but let's say it took him 4 hours to make then that's $17.50 bucks an hour.

Custom Center Console / Cup Holders

Thanks! My son got them off of Amazon. Here's the link: Amarine-made 2pcs Stainless Steel Cup Drink Holder with Drain Marine Boat Rv Camper They're a bit large, but my son wanted to make sure you can fit a 7-Eleven Big Gulp, Del Taco Macho, or large water bottle sized cup/bottle inside. It's...

Custom Center Console / Cup Holders

Thanks all for the compliments. Yes, they upholstered over the holes and then we just sliced and folded the vinyl into to the hole and glued it to the wood. Then we used a couple of L-shaped brackets and a large hose clamp on each of the cup holders to clamp the cup holders in place...

Custom Center Console / Cup Holders

So my son got tired of not having cup holders, so he made his own center console with cup holders and a pocket area to put stuff in. He bought some MDF, vinyl, steel cup holders, and foam for the project. He measured between the bucket seats and took many measurements of the transmission tunnel...

I found this too. It has a blue tooth receiver so all you have to do is give it power and hook up your speakers. Looks kinda clean. http://www.outofsightaudio.com/

    Another radio question

Yes, that's a nice option but it's pretty expensive. I believe it's in the 400.00 dollar range, if not more. I'm just trying to add some tunes as inexpensively as possible.

    Another radio question

So this got me thinking about car amplifiers with bluetooth already built-in, but the only ones I found were Kicker brand and it didn't seem that great. They have two models: Kicker PXiBT50.2 Kicker PXIBT100.2 I'm thinking of cobbling up a bluetooth receiver with a low cost 4 or 5 channel...

    Another radio question

hmm...that's kinda interesting. all you need is a 12 volt amp and two 6x9 and a bluetooth input. That has me thinking. Just need a mini amp that runs off 9 to 18 volt range DC and has bluetooth. Lepai (it's a import brand, but not bad actually) might have something that will work. Time to...
