Kicking around the idea of a Roller Cam Swap...

Yeah, I called IMM Engines the other day and talked to Fred and he confirmed that it's tough finding hydraulic roller cams.

Kicking around the idea of a Roller Cam Swap...

Well, interesting that you mentioned that. I do have a Magnum block sitting in the garage. That would be roller done right since it came from the factory that way.

Kicking around the idea of a Roller Cam Swap...

Hey all! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I was recently kicking around the idea of swapping out my flat tapper hydraulic cam for a hydraulic roller cam. Currently, I have the the Comp Cams XE268H cam in my LA 360 with 9.6:1 compression, Magnum EQ heads with 1.6:1 Comp Cams roller...

    EDELBROCK PRO FLO 4

When it comes to intakes with EFI, there's really no other choice. Not even Holley supports the Mopar crowd with a Holley or Weiand intake with EFI. They could if they wanted to. It would most likely be more expensive than Edelbrock though. Would be cool if they had a multiport Sniper...

    EDELBROCK PRO FLO 4

They should just design a single plane intake manifold with similar dimensions and design as the their standard LA Air Gap and Magnum Air Gap with enough fittings in the water passage area for both a factory water temp gauge, Pro Flo temp gauge, fitting for the heater hose, etc. Also, same...

Don't you mean FBBO (B Bodies)? Ok, count me in on the group buy. Also interested in the fuel system too.

    5.9 Magnum Torque motor build?

If you need a mechanical fuel pump, then you need to change the front cover to an LA style which means you'll need the LA water pump, crank pulleys, as well as the LA style alternator and power steering if you have power steering.

    5.9 Magnum Torque motor build?

Oh, one other thing... If you keep the Magnum front cover, you will NOT have a provision for a mechanical fuel pump. Just something to keep in mind.

    5.9 Magnum Torque motor build?

So... low mileage junk yard motor and the rear sump truck oil pan and stock magnum truck exhaust manifolds. Switch to a carb intake. Install a Mopar electronic distributor, MSD distribitor, or HEI distributor. Hey @MoparTrucker does your truck have Air Conditioning? If so, and if you want to...

    5.9 Magnum Torque motor build?

I have a 360 LA motor with Magnum style heads by EngineQuest that wer prepped by IMM Engines in Indio, CA and the engine was dyno'd at about 438 lbs of torque around 2,500 RPM (I'll have to look at the graph to be 100% sure on that but definitely more than 400 lbs). But my build was more than...

    Southern California Mopar Machine Shops

Yep, it's one hell of a drive but you're right....go early, drop off the engine and on the way back stop in Palm Springs. I think you can stop in Morongo too, but I never have. My IMM built engine is still running strong.

SpeedMaster High Rise 4150 EFI Manifold for SmallBlock

Thanks! Yup, I can see where it's been notched a little bit. You think this is only an issue on aluminum heads, or iron too? I'm running iron EQ heads.

SpeedMaster High Rise 4150 EFI Manifold for SmallBlock

So I gave SpeedMaster a call yesterday and inquired about the intake. They told me that they don't have it in stock and they do not have an ETA at this time. Maybe, they need a reason to make more? I think interested parties should call in and ask about them. Maybe with enough calls, they'll...

SpeedMaster High Rise 4150 EFI Manifold for SmallBlock

@68cuda408 Thank you for the pictures of the Super Victor intake. That's good information to know!! Because of the SpeedMaster intake isn't available, then the Edelbrock intake will be the only way to go for multi-port EFI. By any chance, do you have a more close up look at the valve covers...

SpeedMaster High Rise 4150 EFI Manifold for SmallBlock

Yup, the site says it interchanges with Edelbrock's Super Victor 2815 which is odd because that part number is NOT their EFI model. Edelbrock's EFI model for the small block Mopar is 28155 I'm actually interested in calling SpeedMaster to express interest in this part.

    Trick Flow Intake

Well, if you put it that way, then I won't disagree. You're right, it really is a personal preference. Sometimes, it's the wallet that makes the choice. But the added benefits of EFI on a daily driver is kinda nice. Start up in any weather. Automatically adjust for elevation changes...

SpeedMaster High Rise 4150 EFI Manifold for SmallBlock

I didn't know until today that these even existed. I wondered if anyone has any experience with them. They seem to be out of stock at the moment. Looks like a cost effective manifold to swap to EFI. Those stands appear as though they were meant for the factory Magnum intake fuel rails, but...

LA - Cast cranks ( Dont throw away )

Oh, it has to specifically be a 318 crank? Not just any LA crank like for 360? I have a 360 crank. I guess never mind, it will continue to take up space. LOL

Just out of curiosity, what kind of EFI does that Magnum distributor work with? Factory only, or would it work with others such as FiTech, Sniper, etc?

    Small Block Distributor Recommendation

4 speed, 3.23 gears, and 26.7" rear tire (275/40R18). My A/F guage tells me I'm doing high 14's to low 15's while cruising the highway at about 2500 to 3000 RPM's (depending if I want to keep up with traffic or not. LOL) It's hard to gauge my MPG because my fuel gauge is wonky, but I took a...

    Small Block Distributor Recommendation

Well, it's not entirely poor of a decision. I could use the 10+ year old MSD setup on my engine run stand. None of it will go to waste really. A mile or 3 gain is pretty good for a daily driver. That right there sounds promising. @Johnny Mac You do bring up a good point there. Keep what I have...

    Small Block Distributor Recommendation

Two votes for Trailbeast. I don't mind the idea of using a factory distributor. Makes it look more original. HEI means I can find parts anywhere in case of emergency. I read Trailbeast's website. Interesting! Yes, I thought about that too, but I'd really like to get rid of the MSD box. I...

    Small Block Distributor Recommendation

Hey all! I've been slowly been improving the streetability of my small block 360 in my '74 Duster, and needed some advice on distributors. There seems to be many on the market, which leads to a bit of confusion on which would be the most trouble free with the ability to easily tune for advance...
