Thinking About Switching to Right Hand Lugs

Here is a thread that might help you out. I know I have seen where they cut the drum but can't remember who posted it. Wheel stud swedge cutting tool | For A Bodies Only Mopar Forum

Thinking About Switching to Right Hand Lugs

I'm not sure. After wrecking the hubs I went to disc brakes as I needed new hubs now. A machine shop was willing to weld in the original stud holes and cut new holes that would take the studs and install the drums but after the cost I thought it best to go to swap to Disc brakes. You might be...

Thinking About Switching to Right Hand Lugs

I just hammered mine out like that and it ruined my hubs. The end of the stud is a swedge where it holds the drum on. I found you must cut off the swedge off or it will ruin the hub.

P185/75R14 Gone the Way of the Dinosaurs?

Yea that is probably very close to what he paid for his. They were on a 65 Valiant wagon that originally had 13's on it. I think the 195 70r14's were about 70 us each.

P185/75R14 Gone the Way of the Dinosaurs?

We can get them here in Canada. I think my buddy got his from 1010tires but they were not cheap, I told him I would get the 195 70r 14's as they were cheaper. They were hankook if my memory serves me correct.

    More pics 17x7 slammed

Looks really good with the wheels tucked up nice like that. Do you have any rubbing when driving. Are you running drop spindles or just big torsion bars, or both for that matter.

'65 Barracuda FS 14" vs 15" Rallye wheels

Yes they were 13 with a 14" option. I think I would go with the 15's, like lots say more tire options and I think with 15's and the shorter side wall you'll have better control in the corners. I do like the looks of 15 ralleys on the early A Barracudas.

65 barracuda tire and wheel size

I bought these rims from American muscle, rears are 17 x 9 with 5.95 back space with 275 40 r17's, fronts are 17 x 8 running 225 45r17's with 10"spindles and disc brakes. I lowered the car an inch from stock height. I am running big block torsion bars and just turned down the adjustment bolts...

65 barracuda tire and wheel size

@Frank Dinatally Are you planning on moving the rear springs in? You could follow what I did with my car. I am running 275's on the back and 225's on the front on 17's all round. I also have discs all round. Rear meats for a 65 Cuda

    14 x 8 Front Wheels?

You would have to get the back space just right or the rim will hit the upper ball joint. If the rims back spacing clears the upper ball joint I think the tires might stick out past the fender. The other thing to consider is I don't think there are many choices for a tire in 14" that will fit...

Post your wheel and tire combos.

Yes stock height springs, but since I moved my springs inboard the front hanger has 2 locations one for lowering the front eye 1 1/2 inches. No not on the bump stops, but very close to it. and tires still had a small bit of room before rubbing on the inner rear quarter panel.

Post your wheel and tire combos.

@Garethw Found one old picture, a bit more of a side shot. I loaded about 400lbs in the trunk to try and see if the tires would rub any where. That's why it's sitting real low in the back in this picture. The rear spring has 2 front spring locations and it is sitting in the upper hole to get...

The springs are new for an A body bought from espo springs. I'll have to get a pic from the side for you later, my car is at the body shop right now but it's there on those wheels as they had to be able to move it around.

Post your wheel and tire combos.

1965 barracuda, rear springs are moved in but stock wheel well but running Yukon axels as they push the offset out 3/8 inch. Rear tires 275 40r17 and rims are 17 x 9 with 5.95 back space. front rims are 17 x 8 running 225 45r17's with 10"spindles and disc brakes. I bought these rims from...

    14" or 15" wheels on '67 Barracuda

I'm running 14's on the Demon 265 50r14 rear 215 60r14 front on ralley rims, but I did this almost 12 years ago. If I was to do the car today I would defiantly go with the 15's, with way better choice of tire sizes and the decline in 14" choices today. I would also go with the 4.5 pattern unless...

    Tire size questions

Your stock tires are approx. 28.9" tall. A 255 60 r15 is only 27" tall almost a 2" drop in height. It will help acceleration but might look a bit small in comparison. Your Speedo will be 4.5% off ready slow, 60mph will be 57mph. You can use this website to run some tire sizes to get an idea of...

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

I don't think the 5 x 100 pattern is close enough to bolt on a 5 x 4 car. 100mm is 3.93", although I haven't tried it myself. I don't think I would do it. Also a FWD rim does has tons of backspace so that part might be ok. Can you try to bolt it on the car?

    Will 15x7wheels work on a 64dart?

I think a lot of guys are running different size tires front to back including myself. On my Demon and on the Cuda, both cars have different sizes front to back. I wouldn't worry about running a smaller tire on the front.

    Will 15x7wheels work on a 64dart?

15 X 7 with a zero offset is the same as a 4" back space.

Advice asked for widthening rims on a 70 Duster

I had some 14 x 5.5 ralleys widened to 7.5 inches by cutting the front of the rim off and adding a larger piece and the back spacing is stock. I'm running 265 50 14's on them. I did this about 15 years ago but if I had to do it today I would go with 15's as there is so much better tire...

65 barracuda tire and wheel size

I'm not sure anyone is making 17"'s for the 5 on 4 bolt pattern. Coy's use to make 17's but they discontinued them. Are you going to switch it up to the 4.5 pattern.
  24. Keith Mopar

65 barracuda tire and wheel size

If you can move the springs inboard a 275 40r17 will fit. Rear rims are +24mm with a 5.95 back space 17 X 9, and front 17 X 8 with 225 45 17's on them, I am also using an a body 8 3/4 with Yukon axels with the 4.5 pattern as these axels affect the offset.

Anybody running 18" Bullitt rims on an A Body?

How about 17's on a 65 Cuda.. I'm running 275 40R17 on the rear and specs are 24mm with a 5.95 back space. On the front I have 225 45 17's. Rear rims are 17 X 9, and front 17 X 8. I bought them from American muscle, they are a Mustang place but they had the wheels that fit. I'm running an 8 3/4...

Has anyone tried to get away with a 24" tire?

A 235 50 15 is about 24.3 tall, and this to me would work ok. Were you going to run these tires on front and back? I think the stock tire is about 25 tall.

Classic tire sizes vs. modern sizes

Welcome to FABO Birdman52. What bolt pattern are you going to run, the original 4" or the 4.5? But like said above I would go with 15's all round for a good tire selection.
