    Caltrac help

Anybody running Caltracs with the new style front spring hangers that allow you to lower the car one inch? I mocked one side up and it looks like I will lose one Caltrac bar hole as well as it may slam the triangle brackets into the hanger during a launch. Not a good thing at all. If I put...

Any members running in the finals today? I hung out with one of my buddies yesterday for a full day of qualifying. Here are some pics of MoPars I spotted. I am sure there were a bunch more.

Any radial racers or small tire guys?

I run 295/65/15 Mickey drag radials and the only problem I have had with them is tire shake. On a no prep track, if it spins at the hit - one pedal and it hooks back up. But on a heavily prepped surface it sometimes shakes so hard it breaks the 9 inch. I have lost the rearview mirror off the...

    Carb tuning, accelerator pumps.

No play in pump arm, 30cc pumps, 31 squirters. If car hesitates when snapping throttle open, increase squirter size OR pump cam ramp. If car puffs and feels a little soggy down low, go to a smaller squirter like a 28 OR a milder pump cam ramp. It is trial and error. Heavy cars and/or not enough...

A fun day at the track - sort of!

Yeah I have had that car since '96. I have no idea what power it makes now since I changed pulleys this was the first pass at the track but it feels strong for a small block. I may take some gear out of it since it is 90% street driven. It HAD 4.11 gears and an FTI 4200 9 inch converter until...

I guess I will check them out then. I really don't want to run a Richmond Pro Gear on the street.

A fun day at the track - sort of!

BEAUTIFUL weather in Orlando today, about 70 degrees and sunny. 15 mph tailwind going down the track. Car was running PERFECT and though I would get a really good time today. However, my nodular Ford 9 inch had other ideas. The track was extremely sticky (lost my shoes after I broke!) but I...

    Back half regrets?

My buddy ran high 8's for years with the same Dana 60 on a blower car. Car weighs 3900lbs so it took a beating! Once he got to mid 8's it started eating ring gear teeth. So now it has a fabricated 9" under it and is doing well. Car makes 1350hp.

    Back half regrets?

9">Dana 60 for sure and I own both. But Dana sure does LOOK cool under my Duster.

    Back half regrets?

I agree. I was a big tire back half guy but not anymore. Drag radials have come a LONG way and I can hook them just as well as a slick MOST of the time LOL. It is nice to have a full size trunk and a back seat too. I thought a long time about cutting up the Duster but decided I would rather have...

Pros and Cons of grinding/polishing combustion chambers smooth?

I like to read Chad's post over on Speedtalk.com . I sure have learned a lot of the professionals that post there. Some VERY heavy theory too.
