My 67 Barracuda with a 8 1/4 axle had a 15 by 8 rim with a 4.25 backspace and a 245/60/15 tire and I had less than 3/8's inch between the sidewall and the spring.

I have the Unilug Crager SS on my car too. No problems on the fronts but the rears are wore out. There egg shaped on the bolt pattern diameter so any time I leave from a stop you can hear them clunk. I'm in the process now to fix it.

Good score on the non unilug rims! I happen to be having problems of my lugs digging into the washers too. And the dam lug holes are getting galled out on my rear unilug rims. I don't know what to do with them now. New Crager SS rims will do the same thing again. Anyone else having this...

Vw tires are not speed rated and not rated for that heavy of a car. Running that fast on a inferior tire would scare the crap out of me.

I installed some Crager SS 15x6 inch rims with 215 65 15 tires and I have 1/4 inch clearance between the tire and the left fender when I turn the wheels to the right. On the right side I have slightly more at 3/8 on an inch with the wheel turned to the left. The question is a 1/4 inch enough...

The stock Abody rallyes are 5.5 inches wide. Widest tire for that rim size is a 215. But wider tires have been mounted on 5.5 inch rims and worked. They just wear the center of the tire out quidker than the edges.

Wow! Your car looks great. I was wondering how deep your rear trim rings is. Looks like it could be a little deeper to get it closer to the rim. I was thinking of doing the same thing to my car this winter.

I knew that 245's would be pushing it on 5.5 rims. If I have my rims widen, what would the offset be?

I have a set of 14 inch sbp rallye and want to know if anybody has put a 245/60/14 tire on them. I know that there are only 5.5 inches wide and wonder if anyone had any problems doing that. Also, do they fit the rear of a 2nd generation barracuda. Thanks guys.

Hey John, The ones on the left came with my 67 barracuda and the previous owner said that they were the original caps.Hope that helps you out.

You need a wider rim for a 235/60R14. Your 6 inch rim really only measures 5.5 inches from bead to bead and the biggest tire that is recommended is a 215/70R14. Any larger than that and your asking for problems.
