    1967 Dodge Dart GT Convertible

From what I understand the trim is anodized aluminum. To polish it you must remove the anodizing, then have it re-anodized after polishing or it will continually oxidize.

    Parade bench

I could stick a few screws up through the bottom, then decide based on their attitude if the get a cushion. Used it today and it worked great, had an adult and two kids on it. More comfortable for them and less worry for me. Thought about using this as a prototype, but will only use it maybe...

    Parade bench

Going to put some moving blankets on it. I used to haul dignitaries in parades quit often. Had one woman go off on me because I said I preferred she not sit on the back of the seat. Another time I hauled our state representative, he said he would just as well ride up front in the passenger seat.

    Parade bench

I have hauled dignitaries in a few parades, I don't like people sitting on back of seat, so I threw together a bench to replace the back seat for parades. Going to try it out tomorrow.

    Help with convertible lift system

Just sent my switch in for a second rebuild(5 years since first rebuild).this is his response "What I want you to see it the amount of arcing occurring. This switch is really getting hot while in operation. I would inspect the wiring terminals on the switch and motor side. I believe there is...

    Top up/down switch

My switch was the same way, until it quit altogether, luckily top was up. I sent it someplace to get rebuilt, can't remember where now. $100 and it works great, a plastic part was melted inside, he said it was common. I couldn't find nos(not that I would have wanted to pay the price)and used...

Any fix for a parted rear window zipper

The zipper on my back window has come apart, looks like it skipped a couple teeth and won't stayed zipped together. I currently use the hang strips with snaps to keep the window up, but with the side windows down it flaps and make an annoying noise. I know it needs a new top, but its not in the...

if power top fails to work

When I first bought my 67, one cylinder was weak. One person would operate the switch while a second person lifted on the top to get it started(this was going from the down position to the up position)after about a quarter of the way it would go by itself.

    top switch bit the bullet

got the switch hooked up and tried it out. I have owned the car 20 years and the switch never felt or worked this good. I would highly recommend JS restorations. Was more expensive than a toggle switch, but cheaper than I have seen used top switchs on here, and way cheaper than NOS.

    top switch bit the bullet

Sorry, by universal I meant non original, not nos, not Chrysler part. I plan on finding the best quality I can with correct amp rating. Another problem I am seeing is that the aftermarket switchs all seem to be 1/2 and the original is (I assume) 7/16, so I will attempt to drill out my bezel and...

    top switch bit the bullet

I dug through my universal switchs and saw that some have the handle that can come off with some persuasion, so my idea is to use a universal(with an added circuit breaker)and then remove the handle from the universal and the original and drill the original handle out(haven't figure out how to...

    top switch bit the bullet

Done, still want to explore my other options. Searched and saw prices for others and(no offense to anyone)but ouch. One other question what would I look for in an aftermarket switch, voltage, amperage, etc. Thanks Aaron

    top switch bit the bullet

I think my top switch finally quit working. In the 20 years I have had the car the switch was kind of sticky and I would have to manually return it to the middle. Today it kind of popped and now is loose and won't stay centered. What options do I have to replace it. Hate to pay the NOS...

anybody ever made a tonnuea cover?

Thinking metal, as I would want the scoops (ala T-bird)for my drivers side headrest(no passenger headrest). Would render the top inoperative when installed which could suck in rain. Have thought that it could be tied down with the rear seatbelts and possibly add straps at the front seat belt...

Kind of a wacky idea. Has anybody ever made or seen a tonnuea cover for a Dart convertible? To cover the back seat area. Something along these lines.

    Well liner repair, suggestions, ideas?

Would like to repair the well liner on my 67 Dart convertible, the vinyl part is in good shape, the plastic(?)strips with the snaps at the sides and rear are falling apart. I know I can replace the whole works, but mine is still the original, has "DART" and a date in 1967 (don't remember the...
