From what I understand the trim is anodized aluminum. To polish it you must remove the anodizing, then have it re-anodized after polishing or it will continually oxidize.

I have hauled dignitaries in a few parades, I don't like people sitting on back of seat, so I threw together a bench to replace the back seat for parades. Going to try it out tomorrow.

The switch is being rebuilt now. Just got the relay kit yesterday. Going to check everything, and take motor to get checked. Looks like factory wiring.

Here is what I used, combination of these 2, it worked for me.

When I first bought my 67, one cylinder was weak. One person would operate the switch while a second person lifted on the top to get it started(this was going from the down position to the up position)after about a quarter of the way it would go by itself.

I sent mine off to JS Restorations. Cost around $100. I couldn't find anyone reproducing them last fall.

got the switch hooked up and tried it out. I have owned the car 20 years and the switch never felt or worked this good. I would highly recommend JS restorations. Was more expensive than a toggle switch, but cheaper than I have seen used top switchs on here, and way cheaper than NOS.

Update: Sent my switch to JS Restorations last week, it is rebuilt and on its way back to me, should be here Thursday. Will give a full report when I get it back. Jim is a great guy to deal with. Kept me informed via email and even included pics of the switch tore down...
