You have to use a 360 pan on the 5.2 and 5.9 Magnum engines I know because I had the same problem you have.

I have just done that swap. I took the complete eng out of a 91 Dakota and it was a calif.emission one I think the fed one would be a little easyer because they don't have all of the smog crap on the engine I modife the harness and wire it in to the 65 Dart harness , have not had time to finish...

I swap a 3.9 magnum in my 66 dart wagon and use all eng harness out of the Dakota and wire it in to my old wagon harness all gauges work you have to change amp meter to a volt meter. I have done two of these conversion.

Mine did that and went to the dealer and all they did was install a new coil no more problems mine was a 1995

Hey make sure you check the therostat it could be stuck shut. Thats the first thing I would ck.

Hi I done that engine swap last year. I got a 1993 Dakota 3.9 with the a500 overdrive and a 8 1/4 with 3.55 sure grip the hardest part was to make up engine mounts and I used the whole eng. harness and tied it in to the 1966 Dart harness it is a great ride and a real sleeper.

The eng in the red Dart Gt was out of a very low mileage Dakota 193 miles and the 3.9 was out of a wreck Dakota also but had more miles 53,000 but I freshen it up before I instal it. I will have the Dart Wagon at Fall Fling tomorrow in the swap meet area some where. You can't miss it.
