    Disappointed magnum head flow numbers....

My magnum heads were 215-219 stock and 242 @.500" after porting on the intake. Exhaust were surprisingly good at 163 stock and 180 after porting. All at 28". I will the casting quality between the 2 heads were very different ends of the spectrum! One was a nice smooth finish, the other was very...

    My combo

I'll put it on a chassis dyno to get it closer once the car is done. Trying to dial the secondaries in will be the tough part. At least it's the AVS so I can adjust it somewhat. As for the headers, I was leaning towards the Doug's myself. The car is a 4 speed and will have 3.55 gears.

    My combo

Should have stated this is already built. The KB362 is built for the eddy mag head. The rods have been narrowed. In hindsight, I should have went with the flattop. I only work out to 9.72:1 right now. I was aiming for 10:1. My first build, so I'll learn from my mistakes. Has been run on...

    My combo

The exhaust didn't gain anything past .500 so didn't figure it was necessary to go that big. The ratio is 75% ex to in. I might still change that in the future.

    eddy head question

Should say this isn't my engine. Helping a friend out. The springs that comp recommends for the XE 282 S are the 924-16's. They have 355 open pressure. Maybe use the Eddy's for the breakin and then switch to the comps? So I will advise them to switch them out. Next question. Will the dual...

    eddy head question

Have a 383 in a 73 dart with eddy rpm heads. Switching from an comp cams xe274h to a xe282s. Will the springs that come with the eddy heads handle this cam? The seat pressure is higher on the eddy springs at 120 compared to the recommended springs from comp at 112. Unfortunately, eddy...

if it ain't broke add more parts !

I have a set of eddy mag heads and they cost me $1700 CDN. The Eddy non mag were about $100 less. I think if you're not going the mag route, porting you existing heads would be the best bet. The mag heads in question, I don't believe there has been any porting done. The mag heads tend to...

if it ain't broke add more parts !

I don't think you'll be into that much. Here's pricing from Mancini US dollars pushrods -- $40 stock replacement rockers -- $88 magnum airgap intake -- $290 lifters (if needed) -- around $90 Plus the heads at $300 CDN and say $100 in shipping Assuming you are going to replace...

if it ain't broke add more parts !

Yep, they have pushrod oiling and rocker arms like the chevy setup. Magnum heads are by far the best iron head to work with. The heads on my mag 318 are mildly ported and flow 243 cfm@ .500" lift and 180 cfm@ .500" lift. Very impressive low lift numbers too. Mopar sells a pushrod set for...

    headers or not to headers

Yes, the 92-93 magnum manifolds are a very good flowing stock manifold. They are supposedly to have slightly larger runners than the newer manifolds. I'll see if I can find an article on this.

    ET Question-Stocker....

Have a friend with a 73 dart. Ran a worn out 318 2bbl cammed car. Had a holley 600 cfm carb on a oem 4 bbl intake with headers and 2.5" exhaust and 2.76 gears. 904 auto ( it was beat too) Ran 15 flat in the quarter. I couldn't believe it!! Tires were 235/60r14's. Of course he will be a bit...

    Valve lift limits

I believe the limit on magnum heads is around .520". Usually have to have the guides taken down for most of hughes cams when using 1.6 rockers.

    big block questions

Thanks for the help! So the 1 3/4 TTi's should work with both. I know he won't like the price but it's better than buying 2 sets!

    big block questions

Well luckily this is a manual steering car with manual brakes too. I knew you had to watch what headers you got with the eddy's. Why don't other headers work with them?

    big block questions

I'm helping a kid with his 73 dart. Droppinga 383 in it right now and plans for a 440 later. Have a couple of questions. He has the eddy alum heads ordered for the 383 and wants to use them on 440. What headers work with the eddy heads and will the same header work for both the B and RB...

    retro fitting Magnum F.I.

I'm looking at doing the same to my engine in the future. Going to build for a carb now and switch to FI later on. Already have the FI intake, just have to take it off my Dak. Also have a spare PCM kicking around, so all I really need is the wiring harness and add the O2 sensor. Always...

I'll pop the numbers into my desktop dyno tonight to give you an idea of where you will be. I'll have to guess a bit on the head flow numbers though. I have the drag sim too so I can give you a rough estimate on that too.

    Rebuilding a 340

I'm in the same dillema also. have the #'s matching block and tranny, but don't know if I should rebuild or store and find something else to play with. The org. block needs some work and is already .030" over. Because of the rust in some of the cylinders, I think it will need another .030"...
