    If ya can post a picture of the counterwieghts on the 383 crank, whether it's cast or forged is easy to see. The rods best to go with the casting numbers, post them.

    Yes the 383 crank and rods should be forged for that year but to be absolutely certain check the casting #'s. There were some cast 383 cranks and rods kicking around in 69 and 71 that someone could have put in and the 2 barrel factory 383 used them..

    With your speed vs RPM I'm guessing you're running 3.55 gears which ain't bad for the highway but your mileage sucks bigtime there is something wrong.     If you're thinking of running the turbo oil return line through the rad cooler I'd say no. The tubing in the rad cooler is probably only 5/16" and will be restrictive as the turbo return should be larger and you don't want to back the return oil up into the turbo bearings. They won't last long...
