Racers, let's see where your tachs located

My tach is in the dash. I have an MSD shift light mounted on the A pillar. It's so bright you can't miss it. I never look at the tach, just shift when the light comes on.

Stealth sound system install on a Duster

Haven't done mine yet, but here's what I'm planning: Receiver in dash. It's already cut for a DIN mount, so that's where it's going. Alpine CDA117 is what I'm looking at. Built-in iPod controls. The iPod can get stashed away then. Boston Acoustics 6x9's in the deck. In the middle of the...

    rockt mtn dash/gauges

One of these days, I'll get around to the interior... But the dash panel is nice. I should NOT have put the LED's in that spot that everybody puts them. I can't see the high beam indicator at all.

    Modern Seat Belts?

I just ordered a set from Wesco. They can supply a 17" "floppy end", but you have to call. They have 10", 17" and 20".

    Modern Seat Belts?

I still have the stock belts for my Duster's bench seat. The inboard belts are around 15". I could re-use the sleeves, but the belts come in 10" or 20". Neither is ideal. I emailed to see if they can supply a 15" belt.

    Modern Seat Belts?

I didn't know the '75 had different belts. If I can find one in the boneyard, I'll check it out.

    Modern Seat Belts?

Excellent! That's just what I was after - some pics of them installed. Thank you. I remember seeing that post a while back, but I missed the photos. The dropped "sash guide" should be perfect. I can't tell from the pics - did you use the factory hole for the retractor AND the shoulder mount...

    Modern Seat Belts?

As we all know, the factory shoulder harness was never intended to be removed from the clips. Totally useless. My idea is to put three point belts in my car that are retractable, use factory mount points, and one of those drops for the shoulder harness. Right now, it goes across my neck...

Any idea to what car these seats belong?

The upholstery looks like '73 or newer Duster. By the way, I'm told the seat frames are different between 72 and earlier vs. 73 and later.

I wanna see your trunks and stereo's!!!

Nope. Maybe next year, I ran out of money.

    Rocky Mountain Dashes??

The aluminum was nice, but hard for the average guy to weld. If I were to make one, I'd just use heavy gauge sheet metal. Make it as nice as possible with the welder and grinder, then finish it with some short strand glass-reinforced bondo, followed by regular creamy bondo, paint it and all is...

    ahhh. finially seats... :)

Cool. I have been pondering the set thing too. Like you, I have a hard time swallowing the price for seats, then foams, then covers. Ouch. At this point, I think the car will go back together with the bench. Glad you like them. I'll file that away in my brain. :-)

    70 duster seat belt question

Those look right. Don't forget, back in 1970 NOBODY actually used those things. You ever try using the shoulder harness? That thing is a joke. So... Mopar probably never put much effort into making them practical.

    1973 Duster Bucket Seat Foam

Goldduster360, any news on those seats? I'm in a similar, but different, situation.

My dash is already cut for DIN, so that's what I'll put in, when I get around to it. Planning a Pioneer head unit, a 4 channel amp and a sub amp in the trunk, Boston Acoustics speakers.
