    Beautiful car. Tasteful and timeless.

After 4 years of secretly restoring my mother's car. I surprised her with it!

That was a great thing to do. Nice car too. Reminds me of my buddy's 64 when he first bought it.

    1972 340 Duster

Super cool. I dig the white color - you don't see a lot of white Dusters.

I've been a busy boy, Lotsa pics.

Good work, Spaz. You didn't like the 3.91, hey? I thought they were a great street gear, as long as you only go 65 on the Interstate. It depends on what you really want do with your car, though. If you're doing the "pro touring" thing, then 3.55 or even the 3.23 is nice. Or hell, go with a five...

    Loyalists need not apply

By far, the coolest of those is the Lincoln. Most potential go go like a *****... the Falcon. Those things weigh damn near nothing.

When it comes time to re-assemble, make sure you grease up the hexes on the torsion bars.

    K Frame Removal Question

Remove the nuts on the brake strut rod, otherwise the strut rod will keep the LCA from moving. Then loosen the nut on the LCA stud. Back the nut out until it's flush with the end of the stud. Stick a 2x4 over it and give it a whack. The LCA stud should bust loose and the LCA will slide back...

    K Frame Removal Question

I pop the joints loose and leave the UCA's on the car. Then, if necessary, get in there and work on those UCA bolts. They're usually a huge pain.

Looks nice. Nothing wrong with running the slant six.

    Dirtbag Duster

Me and the guys moved my leaf spring sliders back. Now they actually MOVE! Of course, the ride is vastly improved. :-) I also took the 1.5" lowering blocks out. The springs have settled quite a bit already, and I think now that they can flex, they'll settle out a little more. A couple recent pics:

The car should be done and on the road this weekend. Just enough time to get some miles on her before the drive to the Nats. Here's a picture that's somewhat recent.

    1971 Dart 340 Six Pack

Looks great. I wish I had a rotisserie... I'll have to get one for my next project. For what its worth... It's too late to worry about now, but I'm told that factory undercoating contained asbestos. Ah well... I heard that after mine was all done too. Yet another thing trying to kill me...

    A tale of two Dusters

Interesting stuff. I see your struggles with the Addco mounting hardware. Since you have a welder, you might consider an approach like we took on the Valiant. The brackets we made are from 1/8 thick stock. I have no better pictures, unfortunately.

The trim is going on the car now, and everything we do has an immediate pay-off. That's a nice change from endless sanding, which does NOT have an immediate pay-off! We're working on new foams and covers for the seats, and body trim. The car still needs glass, a headliner, side glass...

    1964 Signet 200

Since SSHOMER is occupied with family things, I'll post an update on his behalf. Wet sanding took quite a long time, but the car is buffed. She still needs a pass with glazing compund. Then we can finally move on with assembly.
