That wall where the intake port on the head intrudes into the intake runner (being smaller) does more damage than the slight tumble you may see. If you open them up to gasket size, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Do you have any pictures of your bowl work?

So are you trying to pull the whole engine? Or just the heads? You don't need to pull the heads to pull the engine. You can just remove all the bellhousing bolts, the starter, the front accessories, the fan, the radiator, and the distributor cap (to clear the cowl) You should be able to leave...

I would check lifter bore diameter and check it for burrs/out of round/anything that would cause the lifter not to spin, before I tried another cam.

Where's the horsepower kick in? And are those good for any high end power?

manciniracing.com is going to be your best friend for a lot of this stuff. Summit has nothing when it comes to mopar stuff.

You'll need v8 mounts, new trans, possibly new k member (not sure). Frame will be fine, remember, these were available with a v8. I'd change the torsion bars to a thicker set, but that's just me. Some guys love the /6 bars.

Don't think those are X heads.. just did a quick search and they look like they're stock 273-318 closed chamber heads. Could be wrong though.

Are you going to be able to use the stock rebuild bearings with the 4" Stroker crank?

One of the biggest things you can do to get better fuel economy is raise your engines efficiency. Basically, the more efficient your engine, the less power will be wasted. The best thing you can do is reduce leakage in your cylinders. Simply put, all the compression you lose through stock rings...

Hot tanking when done right won't hurt your block. It will however wash off the petroleum jelly or whatever you use to try to protect your bearings. You can either wash the water jackets out right now, or (the better option) just knock the freeze plugs and cam bearings out and have it hot tanked...

Are the pushrods oil-through or solid? There were a couple years before the Magnums that they used roller cams with the old style heads (oil through head not pushrod)
