I've bored out a later model 413 truck block to 426. Stuffed in some max wedge pistons I had lying around, haven't had any problems yet. It is a bit of metal to take out, but remember, that's how they made the 426 in the first place. And from what i've seen, good 426 pistons are easier to find...

You could bore the 413 you have out to 426. That's what I did to mine.

Those are a nice set, but you need to know your piston to deck height, and your camshaft specs (both lift and duration) before you buy anything.

To put it very simply, it's the ratio of valve lift to actual camshaft lobe size. Basically with 1.5 to 1 rockers your valve will open 1.5 thousandths for every thousandth of cam lift. Bear in mind 99% of cams are advertised with lift already figured with 1.5 rockers. For example, a .500" lift...
