I used an old flat type bottle opener and wrapped masking tape around the flat part and just eased my way around it and it popped right off i did have to use a larger type of the bottle opener not the small one.

I have a complete set of side moldings plus a few extras 100$ plus shipping ,they are still on my car but I need to take them off

Use lead or use a copper spoon or copper sheet behind the holes when you weld it helps to keep warpage to a minimum by absorbing most of the heat and makes the backside of the weld look good,going slow is the key to keeping warpage down.I have used long strand fiberglass filler with good results.
