    Torque wrenches

Double tripled checked...it's actually 18-20ft-lbs. That is what I was going to do...until I dug out my Husky cheapo in-pd torque wrench. On the collar above the handle it has 16 markings, which made me think that there is 16in-pds to 1ft-pd...

    Torque wrenches

I have a Snap On torque wrench for higher torque stuff. It is not the type where you crank the handle, it has a knob on the side with a dial that turns. Had Snap On guy that I know from the track check it, it is calibrated. But...and this is me just overcomplicating my life..changed the trans...

    T-5 lights...

What an absolute pain in the arse these things can be. Put 3 up in the bay I use for work. Had 0 troubles with them until I built my smoker under them. Now on all 3 of them the rear most bulb is out. Swapped bulbs, they worked. Seems like they need to be twisted to just the right spot to work...

    Engine stand...

Haven't you by chance rigged something up or was this just something that popped into your head? Thank you Sir. Just picked up the LS out of the wooden stand it was sitting on. My cherry picker is in the far end of my garage, 2 cars blocking access. Would have had to load it on my small trailer...

    Coolant on concrete...

Just got done doing the annual maintenance on our two daily drivers. I ended up with one of them having the coolant start dripping overnight....it ended up missing the drain bucket so I have a bit of a mess. Mopped it up with some rags but the floor still feels damp...any suggestions?

$75 to calibrate a torque wrench?

Thank you. I have another clicker type torque wrench. The rotate the handle type..have never left it cranked up. Torqued a lug nut on my truck, Snap On one clicked as it was busting loose so it is probably pretty close. I will contact CDI about, sending it in, want to make sure. Thanks again...

$75 to calibrate a torque wrench?

Holy crap...bought a used Snap On torque wrench off of FleaBay. It is,not the kind where you rotate the handle to set it, it has a knob on the side...anyway when I got it it was turned up to 175 ft.lbs. Stumbled onto a Snap On truck...he told me $75 to calibrate...plus shipping...Ouch...he did...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005POGY74/?tag=joeychgo-20 ...from Napa the other day. My Duramax has a leak. Not a very consistent leak so it has managed to make a disaster under the truck. Anyhow...what to spray? Have acetone, odorless mineral spirits and a gallon of Brake clean in...

Some of the metal has some minor surface rust. Quick pass or two with a wheel on the angle grinder gets rid of it.

    Need a soldering iron...

The board in my ABS module apparently has some soldered joints that have failed. Was going to pull the module off and ship it to get repaired. Changed my mind. I have one of those clunky Weller guns...far from ideal for working on a circuit board. Any suggestions?

    Pulling wires...

Got it.... Right now we have 2 services. A 200 amp on the hose and a 400 amp on the garage. Avatar, our power company, told us that the rates were going to be the same....the rates for the garage are 65% higher. Will be tying the house into the garage in the future. This one will have 3 90%...

We are thru the first 90* & 45*. Pretty sure we are thru the second 45*. Very slow going now. Have the pull string wrapped around a 4×4, one end of it laying in the tractor bucket while Ernie is lifting the other side. Give the wires a push...walk the 160' back to Ernie....roll the 4×4...

Car trailer plate in Montana is full size so any bike frame stuff won't work. I probably won't have any problems with the cops...unless I go thru Reardan with it...which is normally the route I go...the "Marshall" in Reardan is a real clown. 30mph is 30mph, not 30.01.
