Hp number idea on new car

I understand that. It's got a 4 link rear with 325 radials and a dana 60 with 4:10s. Should easily have the chassis to go 10s.

Hp number idea on new car

Hp number idea on new car

Im not sure what crank and rods, i know it has hypertectic pistons in it. I don't even know when I'll get to the track with it but I'd at least like it to scare me a little. That my goal lol. How superior are the cnc ported 240 trick flows vs a ported rpm head?

Hp number idea on new car

Ok so I've kind of got this car going, seems to be a new issue every time i drive it though. Anyway, it's not really as fast as i had hoped...... What would be my next best bang for the buck? Trick flow 240 heads and a different cam? I'd like to be more like 600+ hp. Is that possible from the...

440 Automatic. What gears are you running?

I might go 3.91 but this car is new to me and I'm still sorting it out. I don't think it's too bad but i wouldn't ever get on the highway with it. Im currently dreaming of adding more power. It doesn't blow the tires off to bad but I'm on 325 et streets.

68 Dodge Dart with 440 Cooling recommendation

I just took off 2-10" fans with shroud rated at 1750cfm each. Wouldn't keep my car cool at all. A 4 mile drive i was up to 230 degrees. I put my mechanical fan back on and in 10 miles it never got over 200 degrees in 90 degree weather.

    440 missing/wont idle

Car was running great but it got a little hot the other day, around 230 degrees. Once it got hot i think it was vapor locking because it didn't want to start back up. I had to hold the pedal to the floor to get it to start and it stumbled and missed and then ran fine once it was started. Looks...

    Rb oil pan rail dimensions

I know it's a long shot but would anyone have dimensions of the oil pan where it mounts to the engine? I don't have a stock pan to measure and don't want to take mine off right now. Wanting to make my own road race style pan vs paying $450 for the milidon. I currently have the milidon deep sump...

Thinking about doing this 440 build at some point -- opinions needed

Pretty much what my motor is but i have a bigger cam and a smaller carb. I'd like to put a bigger carb on at some point. Guys here told me I'd be lucky to see 500hp. Who knows, i don't really care as long as it feels fast. I'll let ya know if a month or two what my seat of the pants dyno says.

600hp isn't attainable with ported edelbrock heads?

Hp number idea on new car

Yeah but he was ordering headers for it anyway and I'd like to do some upgrades and get it up to about 600hp so i might as well have him get the good ones now. It currently has 1 3/4" on it. He just ordered me 2" tti's.

Hp number idea on new car

I hate to be that guy but I'm picking up a dart this weekend and I'm just wondering what you guys think the hp range would be on the set up it has currently. 440 stock stroke 10:1 compression 93 pump gas Edelbrock rpm heads un-ported Edelbrock victor single plane Hughes whiplash cam-.518 lift...

    What size oil pan?

You need 1 qt. of oil per 1,000 rpm. It all depends on how high you plan on spinning it.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up!

Indy EZ, talks the talk, walks the walk.

I have this cam and will be using the 440EZ heads, what is the limiting factor for lift? I am slightly above what you say the max lift is for this head.

Race Steering Column To Aid in Header Clearance

Not really saving anything by changing the tube, just cut the bearing housing back and add the u joint.

    My stroker build thread

There is a member here 440dartsport I think is his screen name and he had a 750hp street strip deal on the stock block, he said after 3 years everything looked great inside. They took it apart because he broke the flat tappet cam....

    My stroker build thread

Ahhh, the old stock block won't handle it worry. Tons of guys making 800hp on these stock blocks and they are just fine. Good machine work, a girdle and a good tune up and you won't have any problems.

    440 question

Well, that's why i said if, could be a good piece though. Pull the oil pan, a valve cover, maybe bore scope a cylinder or two. If the seller isn't cool with that tell 'em no deal.

    440 question

Everyone will say it's not worth it, I'd say if you can't build one for that price its a deal if it doesn't have issues. Just a stock rebuild with machine work is going to cost you $2000.

    Anyone build their own headers

Yeah, my collectors are the cheap ones, not the slip fits, I'm also using steel not stainless. I've built headers before just not tight like this lol.
  29. junior636

    Anyone build their own headers

I don't want to go through the fenders so i have my work cut out for me..... I already have $700 worth of bends and collectors so there's no going back now, my car also had the motor set pretty low and as far back as possible so i don't think an off the shelf header would work.
