    First off... thanks for all the advise. I checked the carb and its a carter 2681, looks like only one mixing screw on the bottom at the front. I replaced the vacuum line because I had some. Then pulled the dizzy and set the bottom plate so I could set the timing to "0". Car would start with...

    Thanks, ballast resistor, ICM box new and rebuilt distributor put in already. Lots of spark but timing still advanced 15 degrees and will not idle once warmed up. I'll get the distributor off and adjust the bottom plate to give me more room to retard to close to 0. Then find the mixture screws...

    Valve lash adjustment

    Adjusted my /6 valves while engine running. Not messy at all , oil drips does not squirt all over the place. No big deal took 1/2 hour incl rxr the valve cover. I'll be adjusting them again in the spring

    Thanks man.. now do I need the electronic voltage regulator,( the 67 is the black box mechanical) and plug too and do I need to switch the ballast resistor , mine is a 2 wire and I've seen 4 wire on some ?

    A 1978 Super Six engine was put into my 1967. the 67 has mechanical ignition and the 78 has electronic. What do I need to get to make the switch over to electronic. I have the distributor from the 1978, thanks

    get between 21 and 25 depending on my left foot, 67 4 door dart w/ 78 aspen super six, 2.25 exhaust is the only mod.

    If ya have it drive it... that's my philosophy too, just took the snow tires off mine and have the 14" on there... cars not draggin its butt with the 13" till next winter. ( I took the bags a salt out of the trunk too HA HA!!

    first thanks to lilhows340 for the Super Six ... Jeff we put it in last weekend, just had to rebuild the carb and still have to sort out the super's distributor, need electronic reg ect. My 67 distributor and regulator is in there now... but she runs great and lots a power:thumbup:

    check Bill Dedman's post from yesterday, " has anybody ever seen this". Check your rubber fuel line for inside wear, gets soft and inside diameter is too small. Not enough fuel under load.

    4 barrel vs stock intake manifolds...

    I have the one barrel ,all stock set up on my 67 dart 225/ and am getting around 22mpg highway and city combined. . Have done a recent tune up with new points, condensor, dist cap and plugs... What kind of milage are you getting now

    OK guys and gals... looks like problem solved. I changed the temp sensor and gauge now reading slightley right of centre after driving for 1/2 hour. Ckeck out my car pics to see my rad overflow. May not have needed it but it looks cool and can always double as a flask... thanks .

    Did the top rad hose check that memike suggested and made a rad overflow bottle on the weekend. The hose is still cool to touch when the gauge is in the 3/4 to hot position. I'll get a new sensor and wire ordered up and will let you know. I'll add a pic of my overflow bottle too.

    Thanks for the info guys, this cars been running hot all summer. There is movement in the rad but coolant runs slow. I'll flush the rad and do the temp test on the top hose, then take it from there.... we'll let ya know.

    I have a 1967 Dart 225 /6 and after 2 minutes of warm up the temp gauge is almost at the end. The waterpump was changed with a rebuilt before I bought the car. I changed the thermostat. I took it to a mechanic to check as it was still running hot. They checked and changed the rad cap. Still...
