    Gas mileage and boost poll

My Mazda is multiport injected . I am trying to think this thruogh….wouldnt the increased efficiency translate into less throttle input required for the same excelleration translating into better mpg ? There has to e a reason all the modern cars have smaller turbo/supercharged engines ...

    Gas mileage and boost poll

Agreed…. I am thinking 5 psi at most . If I was looking to hotrod it I would stuff a V6 in and turbo it .

    Gas mileage and boost poll

my thinking is that during low rpm operation most engines are not getting optimal cylinder filling and that is where a supercharger is going to help efficiency. Of course if you are driving aggressively you will consume more fuel .

    Gas mileage and boost poll

I bought a 95 Taco 4x4 std cap with a 2.7 new . Great truck ! In fact my favorite out of all the trucks I have owned . Had a 99 X-cab TRD as well with V6 but liked how the 95 was balanced and that 2.7 was just a sweet engine .

    Gas mileage and boost poll

A little bit of boost during part throttle driving should see better mpg due to the increase in cylinder pressure. I am redoing a 93 Mazda B2600i 4x4 right now to use as a daily driver and am considering either an Eaton M60 or a small turbo for better mpg and more HP than the 129 it came with...

Which is why rear mounted turbos would be better in this application ....besides the space issue

    Hey Turbo Guys

What about exhaust temps. How does one keep those in check ? These old MHs have issues with ex temps already. I wonder if Turbo are designed to lower exhaust temps ?

    Hey Turbo Guys

I have watched that one but 1 pull on a dyno isn't the same as a 5 mile pull over a mtn pass . Your input on the build was pretty much what I envisioned. Somewhere in th high 500s for torque is all I am looking for. Elaborate on your comment about not messing around with an oil return.

    Hey Turbo Guys

That was my initial concern about running a turbo in a constant load gas application. But I thought maybe if I kept the boost low....

    Hey Turbo Guys

I have seen that. No echnical info though. I was thinking 2 small turbos would be less than 1 big one. And easier to package by mounting them directly to the connectors vs a Y-pipe into 1 large turbo which will move it further towards the back of the vehicle. Which also means I have to extend...

    Hey Turbo Guys

I planned on a blow thru. Never considered a draw thru.... Seems like a long ways to keep fuel atomized . I am not concerned about lag in this application. Min fact a bit of lag will help things survive a bit longer. How big of turbos will I need ? Can I use the fuel pressure port to feed them...

    Hey Turbo Guys

So I have a 78 Dodge C-Class motor home with a 440 that I would like to modify for better performance at some point. At first I thought stroker but now I am entertaining turbo with low boost . And since there is so much room under the chassis behind the engine I figure going with 2 small turbos...

    68 Dart GTE Project

Not impressed at first . But now I am . I want to know how it changes the driving characteristics. More agile , lighter feeling ...etc Inline sixes make smooth tractable power even without turbos. Lets see a vid of it on the road !

Paxtoned 416 won t fire with lid on when engine is cool

try squirting a bit of starter fluid or gas in then put the lid back on and try starting it. it might be the accelerator pump shrinking or expanding from the heat. I dont know blow thru carbs well enough to say for sure.
