The restrictors come in a pack with several different size holes so you can experiment , my 528 Hemi has one in it and works fine with no running hot or overheating issues . I think the pn # 63440
Another choice is a 318 stroker , you end up with a 390 and get all the torque and HP that you could possibly use . I built one of these and they really give you alotta bang for the buck
The situation you have here is the dist drive gear was worn by a bad drive bushing , this bushing makes a big difference on a magnum . If you have access to the the dealer essential tool the gear is super easy to to replace and only takes about 15 minutes .
Take a good look at the block bushing , there were alot of issues in the early magnums with dist drive bushing wear, there is a dealer essential tool for removing and replaceing it
I ran Schumacher poly loc mounts on my Cuda , they are very harsh feeling and definately not street friendly , I would look at other options before you buy them
Are you using Fram filter ? I saw this happend at the drag strip , the filter element fragmented and clogged the oil pickup with filter element paper .
