    Crank bolt is lefty loosey righty tighty. Put your 1 1.4 socket on it with a long breaker bar laying on the crossmember...tap the starter and the bolt will be loose. You may end up needing a balancer puller kit. PM me with your mailing address and I'll get a timing cover on the way. No charge.

    Your bore on the block you intend to use needs to be 4.04 for a std 2322 piston. If you have Any cylinder wear, you will have too much wall clearance.     i read this the other day and my first thought was that your exhaust pipe diameter is too big for your 318....fine is you drive around at 5,000 rpms but that is impractical....torque moves weight... bigger is not always better...in carb size and exhaust and will result in a bottom end torque...

    the cast crank was original equipment in 1972. the date of integration, i don't know... according to the cronology at allpar-- 340's had 1.88 exhaust valves.. 340's NEVER has 1.88 exhaust valves. ..not all the information written is correct
