Attention all Members: Stop Name Calling and Bickering

I had a grade school teacher who once said, and apparently I never forgot it; "Nobody is too big to be courteous, but some people are too small"

    Made a Cam-Lamp

How cool is that? Nice table and lamp. Here's one for you. I took the quarter panel off a 58 Plymouth Savoy heading for the scrap yard. Spent countless hours re-radiusing the wheel opening to eliminate rust. Then long boarded it till the cows came home. Removed the two stock taillights...

How about Duke Snyder, Brooklyn Dodgers in the 50's. He died today, at 84 in a convalescent home in California. Rest in peace, my friend.

What have you found in your car, while restoring it?

Only thing I ever found were receipts and an umbrella. Friend of mine bought a 64 Comet with a trunk that would not open. Inside he found all brand new vintage speed equipment for a big block ford. All he bought the car for were the quarter panels. good deal for him.

    And they walk among us...

I believe that was in Florida just a couple of months ago. It was a town meeting, I believe. The security guy shot the perp and he died from his wounds. No one else was hurt. An unfortunate, but good outcome for the potential victims.

When is it time to throw in the towel?

Magnet is a great idea. I have looked at hundreds of cars that way. But instead of a refrigerator magnet, which unless you are a Frgidaire, you may not always have along, I use a magnetic business card which I keep in my wallet. Always on the ready, even when I did not think I would be...

When is it time to throw in the towel?

Having restored many cars in my very long life, I say always start with the best platform you can afford. It is usually true, and especially so in this economy, that you can buy someone elses project for less than you could have got there yourself. If you do that, with a partially done...

Why so hard to find a vehicle?

Good luck, DusterDude. I have to echo the comments about the cash for clunker program. I was at a u-pull it junk yard when that program was active. It broke my heart to see all the good, serviceable cars, in great condition that were scrapped. They could have kept me in good, better than...

    Dog

Great pics. You are stuck with him. I started with one pit bull, loved the breed and now rescued two others from imminent execution. Now they are part of my family. Good luck. Keep the little guy and good things will come your way.

    2011 Dodge Charger - car ****

I don't care for it at all. Looks like a Japanese import. Makes me wonder if Chrysler Corp is not happy with the retro look sales to date. Challenger, Charger were much better in the styling department. But as they say in the car business, "there is an a** for every seat".

Superbowl: I don't care who wins!

Ditto for me, brother. Watching the superbowl commercials with my three pit bulls and my daughter. Chinese food coming any minute. Dogs are working on marrow bones. Life is good.

    Why Boxer dog's die young

Homecloned, Chase looks like a pit bull to me. I have three pits. One female, 4 yrs old yesterday, and two males, 3 and 2. Not boxers, but also great dogs with a VERY undeserved reputation. They are great pets.

    Christmas plans got screwed up....

The silver lining to the cloud may be your son could not have made it back to New York because they got 24" of snow day after christmas and the airports were closed until today. If he was driving it would have been worse: blizzard conditions: visibility of just a few feet at times.

This is a great site. I just bought a 69 Dodge Dart lightweight roller in Salt Lake City and need to get it to the New York area. Car is mostly fiberglass, no engine, tranny. Rolls and steers. Probably weighs 1,800 lbs. I can meet part way and put it on my trailer. Would be great to hear...

    Helping people sucks sometimes.

I am very sorry to hear about your troubles. I am also a trusting guy and can see myself making a similar mistake. I recently bought a 68 Dart from craigslist, seller in South Carolina, I am in Connecticut. You always take an additional risk when dealing between great distances. What I did to...
