Try this: When cold, close the choke butterfly , pump the throttle once and try to start. Should start immediatly.

Choke is needed with a Thermoquad. Mine won't start without it.

Running the same carb on my 360. Won't start when cold without a choke. Start within a revolution with the choke.

Just bought a generic "254-AS" Accelerator cable for my stock 1971 340. It's too short and all the supplier that i find list the same part number for 1967-76??? Does anybody know the the right part number/supplier? I'm after the original look so no Lokar etc... Thanks
