    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

I'm sure I've got some Percy's laying around somewhere, may as well use those to start. I'll let everyone know how tough they are to install. According to the instructions a mini-starter is required and I think a shorty oil filter or relocation is required too.

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

I never thought of that Mike. I could always get them to seal at first, but they'd burn out over time.

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

Lmao, Thanks Mike! This weekend I plan on pulling the old intake and pan, checking main and rod bearings even though they should be fine (I was getting 50+ psi at idle hot las time I fired it up) and installing the new pan then double checking header fit. Thanks guys for the heads up on the...

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

LMFAO! They are sexy though, maybe it's the 20 hours of work I did to afford them. They better put out, lol.

Well, they are mighty purty, lol. Na, took everything off right away after I heard the wedding bells. Gotta know what you invested in! But seriously, I found maybe a couple of tiny nicks, If I were "Super Concours Miami Show Quality with no socks and loafers but wearing a cheap cross flag...

Time will tell right? So far, the pan is really a great design, it keeps the oil down below and has 3 trap doors to keep it under the pump. Leak testing in the 'morrow with diesel fuel.

Just for fun, I mocked them up on the drivers side. Doesn't look any oil pan I run will have an issue. Stock K-member is hard to say.

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

Miked out the collector flanges and in my line of work, .0002' is a big deal, but that's building 10 ton machines that are expected to punch out 450 cans a minute all day, every day and the crank runs 1100 to 1200 psi, no ****. So I need to calm down regarding this stuff. Anyway, I got .400 as...

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

Thanks! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I don't think I've ever had a set of headers since 1982 when I first started hot rodding that didn't leak, collector point in the wrong direction, have be dinged to fit or rust out somewhere over time... I just expect it and I'll deal with it. I always...

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

That would take a really good, flat big belt sander table and no way would it hurt with a nice fine grit. I could only get the Hooker Super Comps to seal with one piece stock style gaskets and of course, they would burn out once a year. No regular header gasket would seal. I'm looking forward to...

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

Not too surprised, they'll never be "head gasket flat" and they'll move around under heat anyway. You should've seen my Hooker Super Comps for my truck, lol. But they sealed, just got to keep an eye on them and use a decent gasket.

    Got my Dougs Headers in!!

Showed up on Friday. I'm really impressed by the build quality. Nice, thick flanges, 16 ga tubing, great collector design. Very generous sized ports especially the center ports... hope they seal, lol. I should have a set of Percy's copper gaskets laying around.

    Doug's Headers and Power Steering

Wondering if anyone had any major issues installing Dougs Headers on a 72 Duster with a 360 and power steering. According to their website, they say they fit.

    Tubular Automotive Headers

Tubular Automotive seems to be the best header to grow into in regards to power potential, quality and fit? 72 Duster, manual brakes, manual steering, 727. Presently a very mild build but need room to grow to Trick Flow heads and a 235-240 duration cam @ .050 I'd rather just buy headers once.

    dyno max?

I did the glass pack thing when I was a teenager. It WAS fun and sounded great but it was a major cop magnet. From there I went to Hush Thrush muffs and then to the dynomax series and never looked back. Shoot, I even have a Dynomax cat back on my Jeep 4.0 HO and it sounds great.

    panty vac

Ah ha! Never that term before. They don't pull any crankcase vacuum at idle or cruise but do at WFO. I'm pretty sure that they work best with open headers. They're pretty much a drag race only item. A regular PCV system shuts down at WFO but pulls at cruise and idle.
