    Best brake shoe?

Organics are easy on drums and stop great cold but wear quick but they are quiet. They do not dissapate heat very well and will fade quick if you live in the hills/mountains or are super cruising in the twisties. Semi-metallics grab well and do dissapate heat well. They are hard on your...

    Misplaced unnamed brake parts lol

lol! 6pk and daredevil, They did come with the rear slave cylinders for the Ramcharger but they were new, not rebuilt. Maybe I just got lucky? The Kernel could always just ask for new and rebuilt at the parts store and open the box maybe? Edit: Found this under brake hardware...

They will come with the wheel cylinders if you buy them. They're not all that expensive. BTW, your avatar cracks me up every time I see it, lol.

    Touchy brakes

The rear drum brake adjustment is too tight. Back off the rear adjusters half a turn. The brake booster pushrod may be adjusted too tight too. There should be some play before the master cyl plunger is pushed but I don't have the spec in front of me.

Close to two quarts, but that was in my Ramcharger and I wanted to be sure it was flushed good.

    DOT-5 fluid anyone?

I went back to DOT 4. I can't explain why there was a difference, but there was nevertheless.

    DOT-5 fluid anyone?

Not here in CO. The boiling point drops drastically at altitude. I don't like the pedal feel either, but that's just my opinion. The stuff is easy on paint though.

    Painting the master cylinder

In my experience, nothing that would be resistant to brake fluid. Maybe someone else has a another idea.

    Painting the master cylinder

Get a pint of this stuff: http://www.hirschauto.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=27&Product_ID=10&CATID=1 It's super tough and chemical resistant including brake fluid. I've even submerged parts coated with this in phosphoric acid and it won't take it off. Use a cheap *** foam brush to apply it...
