Just hearing that hemi makes the hair on my arms stand up.

    Wheelie!

Your Dad is one hell of a driver. I noticed in slow motion how the weight was starting to transfer to the rear while the last yellow light was still on. What reaction time did cut on that run? Always fun to see a Crapmaro redlight too, lol! A little Mopar imtimidation works wonders.

FBBO/FABO MEMBER MADE FINALS @ pinks a/o MAPLE GROVE

I just watched this on Hulu. I never thought I would see a double disqualification. A few thoughts on the show: The first guy in the Camaro totally rolled through the lights. he would've been DQ'd at any race. Mr. Datsun broke the rules plain and simple. He knew what the rules were...

Just got my new engine off the dyno!

Congratz, that's going to be one fun ride for sure. Those torque numbers are astounding.

    318 surprised me

Very nice times for up here in the rare air. IIRC, .7 seconds is what the NHRA figures, so that would put you in the 12.87 range at sea level. Well done.

Finally, got my 5.9 Dart to the track. It went well, then it went to hell.

Were the springs checked for bind and retainer to seal/valve guide clearance with the higher lift from the magnum rockers? When I see bent pushrods, that's just the first thing that comes to mind. Hopefully there's no bent valves. BTW, that motors running pretty darn good with that small...

    Plug ??

I'm using Autolites one range cooler than stock. I'm running 10.2:1 with a very small cam though, 213/218 @ .050 at high altitude.

What do you guys think about the new Avenger pro stockers?

Very interesting and thought provoking video. I like stuff that makes me think, but he has it all wrong. Building a race car that can't win a race is like breeding a dog that can't bark or bite. He's "all about the art" but art in it's own end is expensive as he found out. It's just for the...

    Voodoo Cams

I think it's a good choice for your combo as you posted it and it should have a ton of mid-range torque. I haven't run that specific cam but I am running a 60401 in a truck and it hauls ***. No problem whatsoever with the break in either. I certainly would suggest that you heed Lunati's spring...

    Another slow 340

It's dang near mandatory, lol!:read2: Thanks for the info on your times. :) Chris, Have you done a cranking compression check yet? Wild&crazy, I agree, I don't like that cam for this particular purpose either.

    Toyota 10.5" ring gear...

Hey Bill! If your that concerned about strength, Chrysler also makes a 10.5" and a 11.5". The 10.5 rear is availible in the 2003-06 3/4 ton pickups as is the 11.5". If that won't work there is always the 2 1/2 ton Rockwells availible. :) There's more to strength than just the ring gear...

    Another slow 340

Chris, I'm running 10.2:1 with a Lunati 60401 cam (213 @ .050) cam here and have no problems with detonation in a 5600 lb full time 4WD truck w 3.55 gears and 33x12.5 tires. There is no air here, lol! With that big of a cam, you need way more compression and a more agressive profile cam. We...

    130 mph pass

Well done Ian! The Indy heads seem to be the way to go to get in the 550+ hp range. You'll be in the 10's easy once you find a way to hook up. I think it's time for some slicks. 8)

Hi Guitar Jones And Sgbarracuda / Guitar When Are You Racing Again

I know this thread wasn't directed at me but "Streetable" means many different things to many people, including the "Local Authorities". I have a pretty high tolerance to big cams but 500 hp to the rear wheels (which as you know means 575-600 hp at the crank) on a .030 over 360 would be a drive...

    think baby needs a bottle

Hey Moper, Think he'd be OK with the stock rods and slicks with a 250 shot? I think the crank would be OK with short dragstrip bursts. If he's making 400 hp right now, which he could be, that would be 650hp.

What Do I Have To Do To Get You Mopar Racers To Show Up!!!

I'm very, very lucky to live just 20 minutes away from Bandimere. A world class 1/4 mile dragstrip that is very well maintained and safe. It was part of the reason I moved here, lol. The only downside is the "thin air" here that kills about 20% of a naturally aspirated engines power. I've...

    think baby needs a bottle

Mshred, You'll be fine with that set-up with up to a 150 shot no problem. As long as you are not detonating now and set the Mallory box to pull out 4 degrees of timing, you'll be good to go. That box has a built in window switch too. :) Most N2O kits come with a full throttle switch anyway...

    think baby needs a bottle

Bob, I'm pretty sure Formula was talking about newer cars who's built in rev limiter will cut fuel. Yes, you are 100% correct in that the purpose of a low fuel pressure safety switch is to cut power to both solenoids.
  30. ramcharger

    think baby needs a bottle

The rev limiter stops the engine from accelerating and allows N2O to back up in the intake manifold and exhaust system and "BAM!". Like formula1968 said, newer cars with "dry" nitrous systems that cut fuel are more prone to intake explosions then our older stuff, but exhaust explosions are just...
