Hydraulic clutch and slave cylinder info.

My plan for the pull slave is to build a simple C channel mount off the front of the trans cross member using the two trans mount bolts on the drivers side. See pic. This may have to be adjusted or another mounting system devised if my slave is shorter than the one pictured. The trans mounted...

Hydraulic clutch and slave cylinder info.

Don't have a clue on the 5/8" bore but if I had to guess it probably doesn't push enough fluid to move a slave enough to get the throw needed on a clutch arm or fully actuate a TO bearing. I've read guys have had luck with using the 3/4" and 7/8". The important thing is match bore sizes and...

Hydraulic clutch and slave cylinder info.

Purchased Speedway pull slave cylinder and a US Brake clutch master, both 3/4" bore. The US Brake kit was a close out, about $46 IRC, the slave was $34 ish. Pros on hydraulic TO bearing is deletion of linkage/clutch arm and ease of installation. Cons... if it leaks or fails you've got to...

    passion performance 5 speed

I was going to apologize for the rant but I'm not. I don't know about other members, who may like watching the "show", but I came to this thread as I was very interested in the topic - the new Passon 5 speed. In the effort to learn something about the transmission I had to wade through two...

    passion performance 5 speed

It's just this kind of moronic BS that ruins these web sites for me. If you want to argue take it to PMs and have some damn respect for the rest of us.

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

340plot thanks for the answer. That brings your pivot point to exactly where Fastfish has recommended (2" max below pivot). Seems that's the sweet spot.

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

If it wasn't for your posts and pics I wouldn't have felt the need to do a write up. Just giving credit where credit is due. Nice car by the way.

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

Want to give mucho credit to FastFish. His posts and a couple of threads from other websites provided much of the info I used in my write up. I just consolidated it all into a more comprehensive post. Fact of the matter is I'm copying his system on my build.

Hey 8barrel, please post some pics and a write up on your set up. I didn't know Brewers had a kit so I for one would be very interested in some info on it.

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

Yeah Chucks got a nice kit with everything you need to install a hyd clutch in one package. He makes ya bend over for it a bit though! Not near as much as Kiesler's hyd throwout bearing kit. I nearly crapped my diaper when I saw the price when it came out on the market. Chuck's is also a...

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

THANK YOU pauly v.100 you just saved me tons of work. I was trying to link both of those threads and now I don't have to! To continue: The master cylinder will need a reinforcement plate on the interior side of the firewall or you will work the thin sheet metal back and forth with the clutch...

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

Ok, think I have pics figured out. There may be more but I've identified 3 ways to accomplish a hyd clutch conversion. Starting with the set up I'm going to go with, the pull slave cylinder, then there is a push slave cylinder and several variations of a hyd throwout bearing. GENERAL INFO: All...

Anyone running a hydraulic clutch with their 833?

I have a Lakewood bell housing, TTI headers, the stock Z bar set up and an iron case OD 883. Just too many issues getting it all working together. I've researched the crap out of this for the last six months and come to the conclusion that a pull type slave cylinder is the best and most...
