When you were letting the Sniper control timing did you have distributor locked out and adjustable rotor that was set at 15 degrees on rotor? Did you change that back when you stopped Sniper from controlling timing?

be careful with starting fluid as that will cause it to lock

if you have a timing light hook it to a plug wire and turn it over and see if it lights up

if you have timing light, I just hook it to each plug wire to see if it is firing to plug, keep from getting shocked

do you have a 4 post ballast? if so make sure it is hooked right. I had one that was mounted bottom side up and it would make it charge at 17-18 volts. I know someone will say you can only mount them one way but I know better.
