ok, i got my hands on a SOLID 318 72 DUSTER TWISTER. it is solid, but needs alot of the bolt-on stuff, and a engine/trans.

ok, so i got dual racing mirrors, performance hood treatment, but when i do it, the a51 is saying it is for a 1970 model year car. but i have read on here that the a51 wasd for twister.?

1972 was the first model year that "Petty Blue" was officially released as a non-special-order colour .

From 1962-1971 , TB3 ( T=1962 ) had various names :
- "Corporate Blue"
- "Petty Blue" ( 1964-1971 )
- "Basin Street Blue" ( Plymouth) , "Super Blue" ( Dodge )

It was only available on Plymouths , and was typically a 'regional colour' ( e.g. , it was only available in the south-east U.S. , "NASCAR Country" ) until 1972 .

My 2nd car was a 1973 Duster ( VL29G3B375353 ; Ca. license 726 HYH ) , which was TB3 Blue , black benchseat interior , black top , etc. , etc.

As far as your 1972's concerned :
"A51" in this location is , iirc , the sales code for the Twister Package ; "A88" = Decor Interior ( "wood" paneling on the door panels and dash applique , carpeting , and upholstery upgrade ) ; "802" = August 2nd 1971 build ( damn ! how low is your car's sequence number ( last 6 digits of the v.i.n. ) ???? Must be less than 200 !! ) .

ok, so i wound up trading it for my 16ft car trailer with winch. now the only problem is, until i locate another trailer. 1) have to rent car dolley to go get it.lol 2) now cannot go on as many terips for more cars. lmao.

there is one little rust spot on passenger side lower quarter, and another spot in front of rear passenger side tire. other than that, it is completly rust free, and has never had any body work done to it. looks as though whoever started on it sanded a few spots and primered to get rid of surface rust in spots. but over-all really solid. now i have another full 4-speed setup and 69 340 to make this one bad azz twister.

i have never tried to do a paintjob like the hood on one of these cars, with all the taping to be done on the hood to get that louver look
