I know my car needs some door weatherstrip upgrades however, I am not 100% up on the terminology needed to search and select the correct pieces that I would like to purchase. I would like to replace the weatherstrip which runs along the rocker panel near the sill plates and at the top of the roof panel. Also, I would like to replace the weatherstrip at the vent windows, not the track, just the piece that runs on the outer perimeter. Does anyone have a diagram on the weatherstrip for my car? And, where could I find a good kit to purchase?

The weatherstrip that runs across the bottom near the rocker panel is called Windlace..

Above the door is called roof rail weatherstrip and the strips that run against the glass are called "catwhiskers"

Several suppliers such as Layson's,
metro molded,http://www.metrommp.com/

Sorry can't remember the ones I used.. But search for the type of weatherstrip and you will come up with many hits

I see that a lot of the vendors have color codes for the windlace. Most of the Red Dart Gt cars I have seen for sale on ebay have black windlace, I am wondering if that is factory correct? My windlace, of course is missing.

You're seeing a lot of cars with black windlace because for a lot of years, until just recently, all you could get was black. Red windlace is correct for a red car. Nowtimes you can get excellent-quality fully correct windlace material in most of the stock colors without paying Layson's markup (they don't make it, they buy and resell it). See it in color at the maker's site; search parts for your '64 Dart and scroll down through the listings until you find your desired color and length pack for 2-door vs. 4-door. Copy down the part number, then go put it in a part number search on www.rockauto.com ; that way you get a lower price than ordering directly from Metro and you can apply those 5% discount codes that are always floating around for RockAuto to drive the price down even lower. Great stuff; I put it in my '64 Dart and was very happy with it.

Vent wing window rubber is likely to be more difficult. Check at the Metro site, also check Steele and get a Gary Goers catalogue as soon as you can (see here).

Dan left me the same info a few weeks ago. I just placed my order with Rockauto yesterday. Total came to $111.00 shipped for my 2 door (with 5% discount code). Quite a bit less than I've seen elsewhere. Good luck!

Thanks for the help, I looked at rock auto before, this works out very well!

I have one more question on the weatherstrip. The weather strip for the quarter roll up windows, this is the vertical strip where the door window and the roll up window meet, this part comes in regular or flocked, which one should I order? I am guessing that it depends on whether your car is a hardtop, or sedan model, not sure. My Gt, of course, is a hardtop.

I received my windlace from RockAuto - nice product. Now I have an install question. Now that the windlace is in, the door is REALLY tight. You haver to slam it shut, and the door doesn't line up nice and flush with the rear panel. This is obviously due to the thinkness of the rubber seal, but what's the fix? I have moved the catch on the door jam/frame as far forward as it will go. Any advice would be greatlt appreciated. THANKS!

It will take time for the new seal to take a set. You will have to slam the doors hard for a few weeks, and you'll have to slam them a little less hard for a few months, but by and by you won't have to slam them any more. Same goes for installing a new trunk seal. Don't go adjusting the latches before the new seal has taken its set; you'll just wind up with doors that don't line up.

10-4 & Thanks.
