Super Stock Seat Brackets
Hello all!
I will be doing a run of Super Stock seat brackets for both the 64-65(possibly fits 62 and 63 as well) B Bodies, and the 68 a body cars (possibly fits 67-76 a bodies as well). They are built to the original dimensions, and made from .100" aluminum like the originals. I will be cutting them using a water jet table, or laser table depending on cost.
I have found reproduction brackets for $385.00 from Kramer, and $250.00 from SS and AFX. My target price on my brackets is $150.00 for a set (4 brackets). This is not set in stone yet, but once I have all my ducks in a row, I will have a price.
I just don't think the current prices are justified for what the product is, and since I specialize in sheet metal design, I figured I would try to make a product for a better price, and still keep the quality.
Is there anyone here that would be interested in a set? Here is some pictures of my computer models that I am currently getting pricing together on...
Thanks!
-Kenny

Damn right I'd be interested in a set, and I agree with you... the other guys prices are not justified for what the product is. Those prices were set when NO ONE was making them and never went down. At least AFX got the price down from what it was... I hope you can pull this together, shipping may bump it up a little for us folks down south but still a better deal than what we have close by...

Looks good. This idea came up quite often in my thread asking what products people wanted to see. I havnt gotten ahold of a seat bracket to use for mock up yet. Dont you love SW?! Its my best friend.

Sounds good guys!
Rocky65, I dont think shipping will be too bad. I am in Canada, but I am 45 minutes off the border. If I have enough sets to be made, it may be worth my time to drive them down to the storage place in Sweetgrass where I ship all my parts too. They can ship things out for me as well.
Kyle, SW is awesome, it does have some glitches sometimes, but it is handy. I work with it at least 8 hours a day. Much better than good old AutoCAD!
I will be manufacturing these for sure, I would just like to see some decent numbers for the first run. So far things are looking good. I have quite a few interested guys in the 64-65 brackets, and a few guys now that are interested in the a body ones now.
I also plan on making some sheet metal valve covers in the future. They will require a fair bit of welding time, so I doubt I can make them as cheap as the Chinese stuff, but you will get what you pay for!

Good stuff! I have added you all to a list of interested people. I will need a deposit from everyone before I order my final quantities. OR you can pay in full too. I take PayPal, and most major credit cards. Thanks!

Might be interested in a set depending on final cost and shipping charges to SoCal. I'll be watching this thread for final cost info.

Sounds good, just finalizing the measurements on the 64-65 style. Should be done and ready to roll the end of this week with any luck. I will be on holidays in Cuba for this next week so that will put a delay on things a bit, but we will move forward when I get back. Thanks for everyone's interest so far.

I'd like a pair for 1 seat, for my '71 Demon. Would the fit the original contours of my floorboard? If so, I can always drill them to fit my seat.

Good stuff! I will add you guys to the interest list. The brackets will fit like the originals. I personally haven't seen a set in a car, so I don't know what they fit like from the factory, but mine will fit the same, as I used the original dimensions to create mine.

the only reason we were able to get it to that price was due to the fact that we run ALOT of them at a time and we weld it all up our selves... also we dont gouge with the price... Greg Gets a good return from his investment and thats it... nothing more, nothing less...
as for the A-100 seats they take an "adapter" peice to make it work as the seats are bout 3 inches longer than the brackets... just a peice of 1.5"x1/8" strap with three holes and our golden...
