Adjustable Rocker Arms

Anyone have experience with replacing original unadjustable rocker arms with after market adjustable rockers, on a 318 with flat tappet hydraulic lifters. Saw a couple of different types for sale? Anyone done this, let me know your thoughts. Thanks

As far as I know you'll need ball and cup push rods. Are you looking at the 273 non-roller rockers or an aftermarket roller tip rocker. Why are you replacing the stock ones? Aftermarket cam?

There's an aftermarket roller tip, cup setup for stock push rods and flat tappet hydraulic lifters. Here's the link; http://www.ebay.com/itm/200750429144...=p5197.c0.m619

Anyone has experience with these?

Honestly I would stay away from Stainless Steel rockers unless they have a roller bearing or bronze bushing. They tend to gall as stainless is not a very good bearing surface.

For example these have bronze bushings.

If your engine is stock and don't plan any performance mods then new stock replacements are fine. If there is an engine noise it may not be the rockers, you could have a flat lifter, bent push rod, or something. More information about what your doing (i.e a new build or just fixing an issue with a stock motor) goes a long ways for folks helping you out, the more they know the better your answer will be.

Comp pro mags are a great roller rocker and they are a ball/ball setup

My speed shop guy I trust says he would not sell Proforms, sold me PRWs because he dosn't have them come back with problems in mild builds. My next high end build will be Crane or Comp aluminums for RPM (which need more frequent adjustment) or Comp Pro Mags for reliability and strength. I'll be going with the Pro Mags shafties for sure.
