fixing bump steer

I know that I read a thread on fixing bump steer by hoggin out hole on the idler arm bracket and welding in a washer, but I can't find it.
If anyone could direct me to it, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Never heard of anything like that. Doesn't even sound too safe to me. What is causing the bump steer? Why not fix it right?

what are the things suggesting you have a bumpsteer situation going on.

It wasn't hogging out a hole in the idler arm. It was the idler arm bracket. The oblonged hole allowed you to change the mounting point to correct the bump steer & then the washer provided the correct size hole for the relocated bolt. I read this too, but it wasn't in a post on FABO. I have it in one of my books somewhere. I'll do some looking & see if I can find it.

It is important to check bumpsteer first, with the proper gage. Our cars should have very little bumpsteer to start with.

I found the info I was thinking of in the Chrysler Performance Upgrades book. If you PM me with your email address I can send you a scan of it.
