no i don't have any. i was just wanting to see some pictures of some on a duster, demon , or dart sport. i know that this is going to be a hard request. i remember seeing some on these cars in the 70's but i can't say i have seen any since then. need to refresh my memory. so how about it, any pics out there?

no they did have them for the 70-76 a bodies. i haven't seen any in a long time. not to long ago in mopar collectors guide( last 2 years or so ) there was an article about a mr. norms car that had the factory louvers for the a bodie. the owner didn't have them installed in the pictures but they showed them with the factory part numbers and all. i'll see if i can dig it up and scan the pic for you guys..........

ok here is the only pic i can find........

ok here is an update to the louvers everybody keeps asking for...i copied this post from the guy on moparts that actually has some. he also was the owner on the blue mr. norms car pictured above. in his post he has his name and phone number and address, but i will only post his name and sign-on for moparts as i don't want to get into trouble with anybody...

THE LOUVERS>>>>> They where made by the american sunshade company, a sister company associated by the same ownership as the american sunroof company that did all the crank back sunroof's for the mopars and others back in the day. (chevy nova and also the ford cougar xr7)
They have gone out of business as it become easier for the big three to do their own cars that had sunroofs and convertibles themselves or in small batches at a time on the assembly line themselves or using another vendor..
They where offered only for the Dusters and Demons and Dart Sports for only 1 year in 1972.
They where not offered for the darts and scamps, etc.
Only the B and E body ones where offered besides the "A" fastbacks as they called them.
The A body ones attatch under the chrome trim for the window with a locking tab and spring to keep them from vibrating.
They learned their lesson on the other B and E body one's, Because they required drilling holes in the body.
Chrylser offered them as dealer installed accesory at only limited very high volume dealerships with a brochure at purchase.
I have a friend in Pueblo, Colorado that has one of these brouchures...

Due to lack of responce they where discontinued. The bottom louver appears to be missing, But this is not true due to the opening of the trunk lid on these models is so close to the glass...

I am also able to be reached thru ebay and known as Demon340GSS there,
As well as the same name here on Moparts.com..... Demon340GSS.
Thanks again,
Grant Eaton

Hello to all.
I must thank 7demon2 and also Cheryl also for inviting me...

I see here that some of you are looking and asking for mopar "A" body louvers.
I have two of them,
But am keeping them for my demon 340's. (sorry)
They are available for viewing by appointment if one wants to see them in person.
I have had a few people interested in making a small batch of them to sell to those that want them again contact me....
They are a one piece unit and made out of aluminum and are very rare.

Yes, JC Whitney was in the business of buying out large or small inventories and stuff from the manufactures and then selling them thru their cataloges. They are the same thing...
They will mount on any duster or demon or dart sport only.
The Aspen and Volare ones I believe are simular, and may work, But I have never tried them on one...
The one set I have is the original "Mr. Norms GSS Grand Spaulding Dodge ones that I now have on my own B3 blue demon 72 GSS ( it is excactly like the one that I sold to bill, Except mine is a white interior and a 4 speed and also is a factory sunroof car, M52 fender tag is coded also as a "Dealer Demo" and "executive order" car..
I sold Bill his 72' GSS demon pictured above on ebay thru a broker whom bought it for Bill.
It also has the hood tach and the paxton but is an automatic...
The louvers pictured with his car Are the exact very ones I have on my 72 gss and I also have another set on the back of a race car demon 340 I am "playing with"
At the time I had three of them sitting and kept the better two out of three for myself, and sold the last one..
I wanted it to go to soemone that would restore it...
The One set I have actually came with the car that I sold to Bill Sefton.
BUT I keep them for my car's,
Then after selling the other blue car I found and bought another 72'GSS that I found in Skokie, Ill in a barn and....
So Now I have three demon 340 GSS's again.
One 71 six pack 340 4 speed, ( G3 paint and black stripes, black bucket seats still all original paint and all)
and two of the 72 paxton 340 gss's.
(One B3 blue with black stripes, whire deluxe interior with 4 speed, Hood tach and scoop and spoiler and louvers and sunroof and it being restored as we speak now...
and the other is a factory red with white stripes. black houndstooth seats and automatic.( it's just sitting for the future restoration right now)...
They are all stored here in florida if one wants to see them...

I met Bill's friend at the Blue Moon Motorsports shop here in florida and he measured and took pic's of them to make the brackets that fit under the trim that holds them on. ( so he could make some exact copies to mount them)
He has a set and was missing the brackets...

I see these louvers on ebay once in awhile....
The last set I seen for sale there, I know got around 1100.00 for them on ebay and they where missing the brackets too...
The other one ( other louver) I have I bought from a man locally here in florida in a package deal to buy another Demon body from him for a project that we are currently working on.... but they do not have the GSD decal like my other one has....

I look forward to talking , meeting and sharing with you members here any of my knowledge and collections.
Thankyou for contacting me!

Ohh, And Yes... I do spend most of my time down here in Florida now, But I still have residences in both Michigan and Colorado also too.
I am also available on ebay and moparts at the same screen name as here.
it is the Demon340GSS

p.s. you will get a big welcome if you post an introduction in the welcome wagon section and formally introduce yourself there.

I know it's been awhile since I posted on this thread but I haven't forgotten about any of you.

I asked a guy from ACME named Bob Kropp about the possibility of doing some Duster louvers and here's what he said:

Leanna - Sorry for the delay, but needed to talk to my fabricator before giving you an answer. Of course anything is possible - the first step is having an original set to use as a pattern. Once that is done cost of production would be determined. His thought is that to be cost effective 100 units would need to be done and the E/Body picture I showed him they are much more labor intense that the Charger Spoiler. He ask if there is 20 buyers that would step up and do a deposit to get it rolling. I said I really did not know as this was a new idea to me. Do you think there are that many A/Body owners interested in this? He thought final cost could be 750 to 1000 depending on the detail. Thanks SBBob

Soooooooooo gang ... here's your chance! I gave Bob a link to this thread too so he and his fabricators can see and gauge the interest for themselves. I hope it works out for all of you! :-D
