Been awhile since I've been on here and posted pics of the cuda. It started out needing a ton of work. So far my boy and I have stripped car down, removed undercoating, installed whole trunk, drivers front floorpan and pass side rear pan. Pushed crushed in 1/4 out with portapower, did bunch of hammer/dolley work on fenders, now putting it together so he can take it to votech to work on as his senior project. Should be heading up early next week.

Thanks all. Letting son Mike do 90% of the work. Only way to learn is hands on! We are having fun and before too long he'll have a cool car and the satisfaction of having done it himself!

loos good so far! cant wait for more progress. whats with the 68 marker lights? you keeping them or welding them shut?

Don't know why it had the 68 marker lights, but they are getting welded shut. They look factory, but it is a 67 so they go. I'm letting Mike make all the decisions as it is his car and he wants to stay mostly stock. Thanks for the kind words. Will keep updating as we go along.

That is strange.... the tale section looks like a 67. You think the PO used front end and tale trim off a 67 or the VIN shows that it is actually a 67?

The vin is on the door jamb, that's a 67 alright.
I've seen some 67s with the 68 side marker lights- some say they were there from the factory, some say added by the dealer or owner.

Pulled the engine and tranny, put deck lid, doors, and hood on last weekend. Loaded her up and she went to VoTech this morning for the boy to finish bodywork as his senior project. Now I have to get busy on my stroker for the Duster, cos the 318 in Duster is going in the Cuda. That's my son Mike under the car in the last pic.

Looking at these pics brings back memories of the last 4 years!

Thanks for the memories.......I'm glad mine's done.

Looking great!

Thanks Craig. How's your's coming? I see you gathered a few more.

Mark,

I haven't done anything to mine yet. I am trying to buy some land, collect some parts, and get out of debt.

What color is your son's car going to be? What is wrong with the engine in the car?

Craig

Side markers were clearly added later. None of them are in the correct location for a 68 and they wouldn't have been available for a dealer install in 67.

Craig, Mike hasn't decided on the color for sure yet, but I think he is leaning towards keeping it blue. We know nothing about the engine as I haven't opened her up yet. It is a 68 318 that's all I know for sure. The one in the Duster is a 71 bottom end with 302 heads and runs good. I have most of the parts for my stroker, so he is getting the 318.
He got one quarter patch and some other small patches done on Wensday. Hasn't got me pics yet.

Son brought pics of progress on the quarter fix at school. Have a new rear valance on order too. Should be here this week.

Son put some new pics on the computer so I thought I would share his progress. He is doing a fine job for an 18 year old. He has it at vo-tech now as his senior project and hopes to have the body done and in color by end of school year. Then its back home and I will help him with all the mechanicals. Sorry some pics are blurry, he took them with his phone. I am off on Friday and hope to get up to tech and see it in person.
