Low 8's in the quarter, around 160 mph is the territory we are in, considering car weight and projected hp numbers. The chassis is what is the key to this build. We set the big Hemi as far back as we could but still keep the factory dash in place. Weight transfer of that 700 pound elephant will dictate how hard I can plant the tire with some fine tuning of the 4 link. My goal is to leave with the tires only about 2 inches off the pavement (kinda like the pro stocks leave) and let the wheelie bars stabilize the launch in the rear.

the Duster is painted...late model (07-0 Dodge pick-up silver...not the prowler silver...I was told that it would be easier to apply and touch-up if neccassry...I read somewhere (your thread) to K.I.S.S.
Thanks for the compliment....it never gets old!

Denny,
what am I missing here I did the bounce test on 3 street vehicles and I got a whopping 1/2"-5/8" of travel, I even added extra bodies for weight and down force and got the same results !! So why do I need 3 1/2" with coilovers, heck I even tested my buddies leaf spring Firebird and still only 1/2". So will I be bottoming out with 2"-2 1/2"?? I know it seems like not enough but the numbers are what they are. thanks for the help....

Ross ...great job of "field testing" the required travel....remember in that 3 1/2 of travel...2" would be compression (downward movement) and that would leave 1 1/2 of upward movement....not sure what the right terms are

Cool to see the new pics can't wait to see the motor and tranny in place. Got good news from my engine builder today pistons and rods came in today so progress is being made ordering custom ground cam tomorrow we are finally getting somewhere.
Wow that Hemidart528 has one mean machine.
Denny sure looks like there's a lot of Hemis starting to roam this board, that's pretty cool.

Denny I'll definitely take you up on that. You and Old Man Mopar think just like I do--we will do anything it takes to make sure the details are maximized and no corner is cut (figuratively speaking--I've cut many a corner with a sawzall and cutoff wheel!).
