In October 2009 we took a vacation to New York City. In view of recent events i thought i would share what i think are retrospective photos.

Statue Of Liberty, taken from the base of the statue on Liberty Island, we had crown reservations, awsome experience.

Station 8 in the Villiage, same building used in Ghostbusters, they lost one fireman

10 House, "Still Standing" directly across from the World Trade Center, ironically, their symbol is a fireman stradling the two buildings with them on fire.

Backside of WinterGarden, between World Financial Buildings 2 and 3, it was pretty badly damaged. There is a marina right behind me. The WTC building would have been pretty much in front of it, across the street.

11 Tears Memorial, for 11 American Express employees that died in the 95 Floor at Marsh And McClenan.

Outstanding pics....

The fire stations are my favorites. Thanks for sharing them and yes indeed, a time to remember and reflect on the heroes of Sept 11th!

Thanks everyone, going to NYC was a eye opener, nothing like i thought, its a great city. I searched out a lot of fire stations to buy or trade a shirt, my wife was a 911 dispatcher for a bit.

We were walking down the street the day after i took the pic of the Midtown guys and the Engine 54 guys were getting back from a call. I stopped to talk to them for a bit.

They still have the assignment board hanging on the wall from 9/11.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Makes me think of the patriotism and brotherhood that developed the days after the attack.
Bless those that gave their lives trying to save others. And my God Bless those that lost their lives that day at the hand of terrorists.

Awesome pictures. I went back to NJ shortly before 9/11. Were at the Stature when it closed, hung around til dark and got some pictures of the Towers as night fell. But of course it was before I got a digital camera and I do not have a scanner.......
