well i am building a bed. this is my first crack at something of this scale what do you guys think?

as soon as i finish the last little bit on the foot board it will be going out to a local shop to be sand blasted and powder coated. doing it in a color called copper vein. then it will get a 60% gloss clear coat on top. i did a coffee table in a similar style that turned out killer.
thank you all for the kind words. it started as a fun project but like most projects they are never done soon enough.

unfortunately i am the guy that gets to move it. ha ha ha. the side rails unbolt thank god. the head board and foot board are nearly 200lbs each and the side rails are 50 ea. i used 5/8 in hardware to attach everything and it is about as solid as a bed could get.

I don't know, we can get pretty wild in the bedroom, lol. I hate to hit my or her head on those rails--they are metal correct ?

yup its all steel and cast iron. its pretty hard to hit your head when your hands and feet are cuffed to the posts. ha ha ha.
told my girlfriend i built it strong so she could invite a friend. might be a bed for just me in the garage. ha ha ha

Quite the craftsman. Can you give us some details as to how its done ? Like do you purchase caps and does the decorative come in lengths you cut and whatnot.
