Treva worked in her new building and I went after some fresh fish.:love5:
and just to take a walk and get out for some fresh air.
After a good lunch and picked out my lures, I packed me a watered down
tomato juice blend and a couple shot of tequila. A shot of tequila and then a drink of juice.
brother Ken came with me ,But he was looking for a big bass, No luck for him, Just 12 small bass, I was using 4lb line with a lime green and yellow tail jig with a spoon. I caught a very nice one and then they just would not bite. so I figured it was just a fluke :-k
So I let a couple nice ones go and was about to give up and then they started biting. I put them back in the pond, I was ready to get back to the house, But they kept biting so I started putting them back on the stringer.
Got home and fillet them.
here is some small but good eating and fun to catch pictures.
As you can se I was getting hot and ready to hit the shower.
Brother ken took the picture of me and I look like an old tired fart.
fun day and great excercise. I took the good pictures.hehe:toothy10:

Boy those fish seem white looking compared to what we have around here. I bet they are good to eat.

You don't look like a old tired fart Mike.

We are all going to face :clock::clock::clock: some day!

As we say here in Arkansas 'I AM TOPPED OFF' :tongue5:= Full
fresh and fluffy like I like it off a slow cook on the grill.
Know I can have fresh fish a couple times this week.:-P

Those are white crappie ...you probably have black crappie near you....

Glad to hear you had fun memike! Showed those fish who's boss.

Thanks Cudachick!!:happy10: Brother ken watched me catch them all with in 30 minutes.:tongue9:
He said you should have seen myself getting exited and carefully pulling them in, He was about 75 yards away on top of some bass and stayed busy trying to talk that big 5 to 6 bounder in to biting , he did catch one crappie and got it on the stringer,:thumblef: But !!! he was putting another one on the stringer and it slipped right out of his hands and swam off,:blob:

good day on the hill for sure.

They do get dark if they are in clear shallow water.
I had to let my jig drop to the bottom and then pick it up and slowly reel it in, you could barely feel them hit.:-k It took me about 15 minutes to figure this out, Some times they are just over deep water of 18 feet just about holding at a foot deep , Then they have a dark color. This picture was taken early this spring at the same pond.

That fish looks great on the grill Mike! Thanks for posting, as you just reminded me that I need to take some time off and get some fishing done this year.

You know, there's nothing like catching and eating your own food. It's better for you too! :)

I would say so to Joe,=D> Take the RC and have a day away from the house and shop. I am so glad you have it up and running :thumbrig:.
Yes I agree I will be doing some more fishing to get the freezer stocked up
while this cool air is here. :happy2:

So true ramcharger and it beets driving in town using gas for the fried
up fish that just don't get it dun for me.
Get you fishing gear out and put new line on and you will be in the fishing mode, With everything going on in your life , I hope you find the time to go.

Mike speaking of cool air. We have been getting a little cool air down here too.

That cool air starts getting deer hunting popping in my head. Bow season opens mid September here. I might not go because it's always still hot. The Mosquitos sound like helicopters taking off right before sunset. They will bother the heck out of me while I'm on the stand.

You got any spots picked out this year?

I have one here on the hill and one on Black River 35 miles north of me.
I was told that they make a good cross bow for my half wore out shoulder.
So I may get some bow hunts in this year.

Yep this cool whether sure gets ya to thinking :happy10:
