We went and looked at this one tonight and may end up with it by the end of this weekend.

114,470 miles, needs a good tune up and a brake job, the only rust I found was in the front inside corner of the front drivers door, it has a rattle can overhaul, the guy has no clue quote..."I'm a chevy man myself" I never would have guessed from the 3 busted down mid 70's chevy pickups in his yard. Pretty much the car was owned by a little old lady and garaged for most of its life, his buddy got it, did nothing to it, he got it and is selling it so I guess you could say that it is a one owner car, kinda. Nikki loves it and it would be her daily driver after I gave it a good once over.

It's weird, the edges of the seats are worn out but not the butts.

Under the pass door.
100_4707.jpg

Only real body damage. Typical little old lady pulling in and out of the garage dent and crease.

Glad I don't live on the east coast anymore!

Well, I just talked to my buddy that wants Nikkis truck and he will buy it this weekend and we will get the 66 on Sunday.

He is asking 700 (down from 1500) I'm going to offer 500 but will goto 700 for it. He has a clear title (being processed into his name right now) for it as well.

That,s a nice little gas miser for your woman! She,ll be all about Mopar now!!LOL!That 66 looks exactly like Grumpescreature,s Hector!(66 Dart.4 door).Cool car for $5-700!

The old-school ammeter would have clinched it for me! But I notice it has the "alternator" gauge on the dash. Make sure if somebody bypassed it that she's safe. Carry a halon extinguisher!

Yeah, that gauge kinda made me laugh because we all know exactly what happened lol. I would go through all the mechanics/electrics before I let her drive it anywhere. She cooks me bacon and feeds me grilled cheese sammiches at 4am when we are s-faced and get home from the bar/club so I have to make sure she is safe driving it!:-D

Crap! You guys will have to talk me out of doing something like this to this car...

...I am not allowed to do anything to this car that it doesn't need, so if I even think about it DON'T LET ME!!!!

nice find. My '64 was little old lady owned and has that same damn crease on the pass. side. as far as a tunnel ramed small block........I don't think I could talk myself out of it? keep us posted.

Looks like a keeper to me. Be prepared to spend a couple weekends fixing things that Mr. Chevy and his buddy already worked on. Looks like a red paint bomb went off under the hood!!

Nice score, now bring her on home.

Nice lookin' 66 all-door. She'll love it i'm sure! toolmanmike

so you did it. I thought you bought the truck as a parts hauler? does this meen you get your beak back?

Nice car for a good price, what more can you...Had a 65 4 door once, was one of the most comfortable car to drive...You will enjoy a lot good times with that one

Well we sold the truck tonight and I am going to give the guy 300 tomorrow and then Thursday (my day off) I will give him the rest and we will transfer the title. I will take her home, give her a real good tune up, upgrade the ignition and charging systems, take off the 13" wheels for some 14's (thanks Redscampi!), put on one of the 2 bbls I have, rebuild the brake system and set Nikki loose to tear up the highways and biways of western Washington! Oh yeah, I will also get a set of fender skirts for it just like the 73 slanted 4 door :snakeman:

I'd be more likely to talk you INTO something like that! Isn't that the motor for your Merc truck?:toothy10:

That Dart deserves a good home, glad you rescued it, beautiful car, 66's are the best.

Yeah but I'm going to sell the truck or trade it for an old running station wagon. There is a chopped custom 57 chevy wagon with a 6 banger and s-10 5 speed, caddy hood and Buick grill down in CA. If I don't get that one I will hold out for one that I like so the T rammed motor will get wrapped up in a cocoon and wait in the back of the garage for a future project.
