Here we go again...I finally stopped raining and I couldn't wait....
OMG...almost ruined another tranny....backed out of the garage and heard a weird scrapping noise...oh well the oil pan dragged at the lip of the garage no biggy....putted around a couple of blocks with no problems then heard that awfull noise...stopped right away and downshifted into second gear...pulled off the Lokar kickdown and drove it again...it shifted fine just like Rick Allison said it would without that Chevy Lokar kickdown....I did loose my speedo again and I have already shot him an e-mail....ran a little warmer than I thought it would...hearing some pinging when hammering on the throttle...back off on the timing...will be taking that Lokar shit off my car and already looking at the Bouchallon stuff....

WTF Erick! I'm bummin BIG TIME for dude - "WTF"!!!!!!!!!!
Pretty amazing that once you took the kickdown off it shifted fine?
Plan on dropping the pan to make sure its all clean in there? ? ?
Keeping my all my fingers and toes crossed for you, so I hope you figure it out soon cause it's kind of hard to walk or even type with all my appendages crossed up I'm sure it'll all work out for you, it just stinks right now cause of all the BS you're running into.
Note: Ma MoPar never did get along very well with the General . . . Foad and Ma had a bit better relationship at least if Foad was connected in the rear to get pooped on
Look forward to next post.

Smoking a brisket and enjoying the 4th sounds great (along with getting that Chevy S*it of your MoPar) as for the server at work - maybe its taking the holiday off as well - sounds like a good example to follow.
Enjoy it.

Feel a little better about the tranny today
Feel a little better today about tranny situation Had a long conversation with Rick Allison with A&A Tranny...he gave me some pointers to check on the speedo situation and told me that If I still had third gear I should be okay...I ordered his manual reverse low band apply valve body today for $295.00 and it should be here by Friday...it's UPS though and I won't hold my breath...this will eliminate the need for any kickdown shfit...I won't mind shifting my floor cable shifter because I don't have to push in a clutch....

Started work on my air dam/sploiler for the radaitor today
Took this from another thread...got a piece of 1/8" aluminum plate at work yesterday...we have a refurbish shop there for trucks and trailers and it was a leftover...free...got it cut and notched tonight and will bend a 35 degree angle at the line you can see...the notch is to go around the bottom part of the latch support...

the 4 gas cans and a bottle of stabil are the last things I have to do for Hurricane season...already have six of them filled and back at storage...one five gallon equals 8 full load hours of my generator...

I think you made a mistake? That air whatever does not go with the car at all!
Is this supposed to be posted in the Joke section?

You got it sir, that's why he did it and mine is the first revision...the bumper on darts cover half or the radiator...I am going to paint it stealth black and see how it works first...already thinking of narrowing it and reducing the width...it is a bolt on project and can be easily removed..

I understand that they did and what they are for! Just don't care for them. If my car ran hot I would have to figure a different way is all. That 68 Dart sure is bad ass no doubt!

Mine warms up to 195 to 200 when driving and I want it to be cooler than that to run my A/C.....working on sweet timing curve with 34 to 35 degrees total timing...and once again everyone has the right to their own opinions...no feeling hurt here..

I like the chin spoiler look, kinda looks like the old T/A racing look. Definitely paint it body color.

Back in Black and Ready for another drive tomorrow...
Back In Black
To those of you who have voiced their concerns...remember that this little spoiler cost me some time and ten dollars....It is bolted on using four existing bolts in the bottom latch support angle...it can come right back off.....the bumper covers half of the radiator and does deflect and or block some of the air flow....I want to see if it will help...it worked for the Swede...
Ran her again for 20 minutes in the garage.....sucks a piece of paper to the grill and stays right past the first mark...moved the timing to 10 degrees before TDC and my MSD distributor has the 25 degree bushing in it...still working on the timing curve...
Took another look at the speedo housing and cable...checked the location of the speedo housing and tried to turn the gear with a tech screwdriver..it would not turn so I guess it is engaged into the output shaft...had the wife watch the speedo as I turned the cable by hand...it got up to 40 mph once...I know the cable and speedo head are good...36 tooth gear...set at the 32 to 38 setting...WTF

Got her ass up in the air today...my car and my wife
Rear up in the air today...8 3/4 on jackstands
New Leaf Springs in tomorrow....jacked her up today and got the older ones out....anyone need heavy duty spings for their Dart?....Tried to get as much 40 plus years of the rust off of the leaf springs hangers and brackets with wire wheel on die grinder..got them all painted with 3 coats of the VHT epoxy paint...

bracketry.....remember that it is 42 years old and did have some rust pits on it...

OMG I don't think she wants that 440 in her...
OMG
I took the original $500.00 tranny to a reputable local tranny shop last week...they got it broken apart and inspected this morning...they found nothing wrong with it and I forwarded them a picture of the aluminum metal shavings in the pan...I then shot a quick e-mail to Rick Allison...he replied back that the aluminum stator in the torque convertor...WTF...when and where does this saga end.....A&A tranny coming back out....called Paul with Turbo Action.....if I send it back with copy of the invoice they we cut it open and honor the warranty....

Good God man. how much can one man take??!! I hesitate to tell you this but I bought a 727 off a guy for $200 bucks, put a new filter and pan gasket in it and it works great so far. I'm sure you'll get her straightened out soon enough.
