1970 duster-modified on a budget

-
We have some neighborhoods around here that will fine ya 250 bucks for having YOUR own car in YOUR own driveway.
They want them in the garage at all times.
One of my customers was threatend with a fine for my car being parked in front of the house while I was fixing thier computer.

I really thought about doing that! But its in the driveway and would be more trouble than it was worth probably. Their exact words were that "you cannot have a non-running vehicle in your driveway" complete bs....

arrived home yesterday and these babies were waiting for me!! keith black 191's with the 11.2cc dome on them. also the hat, stickers, five hour energy shot, assembly lube and new catalog were an added bonus :thumleft: i was so excited i rushed one of them over to the machine shop so he could measure and get the final honing clearances set and i can have my block back in the next few days. ive already used some 320 grit sand paper to de burr and knock the sharp edges off of the top of the piston to help prevent detonation

Yea, what's with the 5 hour energy shot pushing?!?!?

Not really sure lol i drank it and realized they made it a shot because it tastes terrible haha it gave a little boost but not much of one. As for the stickers i think my back window will sport one from every brand i use just to make it look a little more intimmidating lol

yea, a 5k budget can work. i have proof of it. well, almost.lol i took a rough 313 twister and turned it into a 340-4 speed with all the bells and whistles for like a total of 5,600.00 into it. check out my builds.

car is comming along nicely my friend!

$5k is like a max lol i hope to be far from it. With all the metal i removed from the floor and fenders i got around $80 back lol that weekend paid for itself haha. Im actually getting the 29/12.5.15 goodyear drag slicks and a pair of weld racing quick 8's i believe is how he described them for around $65 and their practically new! Its kind of a lucl of the draw kind of thing. My boss and mentor runs a big block chevy drag truck naturally aspirated with around 900hp and he sells me used parts super cheap and guides me as to what i need for this car. If i have a question he has an answer for me!

Always good to see new parts when you get home. I love the " Big Brown Truck". You should check out 340 plots build on "Pinky". Man did an awesome job. Looking forward to more from both of you. Keep up the good work.:coffee2:

got my tires for the rear today! their bigger than i thought they would be lol i expected 29/12.5/15's but got 31/13/15's instead haha shouldnt have any traction issues! still trying to sell my 8 3/4 rear end to buy a ford 8.8 to run but so far no luck. works been slow and havent made much money the last week or two but hopefully it will pick up and i can get back to buyin parts and closer to running it!
