Bought this car for $200 with no paperwork. Found the title when cleaning it out. Was a /6 auto now 318 O/D 4 speed. Needs a lot more work but putting it together with a lot of stuff I had in my stash.

I added a 4" bolt pattern to the repop 15x10 halibrands I bought for a different project. Tires are 295-50-15 and wheel arches are SS'd with very little tire sticking out past the quarter

I am just finishing up the 8 3/4 with a fresh 489 with 3.55's and a clutch type posi. Axles have long wheel studs and front brakes are upgraded to 10" drums. Front end has all new bushings and 1.03 bars with '73 spool mount k-frame with factory sway bar. Has 002/0023 SS springs out back. Motor is a 318 out of an '81 stick shift van. I ported the heads put a .455 lift 220@ .050 MP cam in it. Running a performer 318/360 and a thermoquad off a '74 440 with factory electronic ignition. Car hauls *** with the 2.94 geared 7 1/4 that is in it now.

What are your thoughts for the future?

I have a truck Dana 60 with a 4.56 35 spline power lock to narrow. I have a 400 b motor and a 308 bearing heavy duty A833 with a passon A-body extension housing. The 400 is .020 over with zero decked kb hypers on 440 source H-beams and a ballanced forged 383 crank. Looking for a scatter shield for it.

What a great project down the road. Plus with the "B" engine, 4spd, and backing it up with a just right (shortened) Dana.......It just might end up one of the coolest Dart's on this site.

Good Luck as you continue on. I'll be watching...and drooling. :D

318 disguised as a 340 and runs pretty strong. I am excited about the 400 on the stand. Headers are tubular parts automotive I bought used off another member.

Great score! For 200 bucks, you stole it. And then finding the title, well that's just like it was meant to be!
I can't wait to see more on this build, it's right up my alley.
Building a car with spare parts and sprinkle some pixie dust on it floats my boat big time! lol
I would rather have four $5,000 cars than one $20,000 car.
A lot of people don't realize that you can build a nice car (or 3) with parts you have laying around for pretty cheap if you are creative and do most of the work yourself.......
Check out my build thread, it might interest you on what can be done with a lot of work and very little money if you have a lot of parts and parts cars.

Scored the dana at a U pulit for $50 Took a long time to hack it out but worth the effort.

I had an old superior steering wheel and made my own hub and filler with factory horn contact and pad.

This winter has really slowed down my project but nothing like some new parts to get things moving. Last weekend I scored a brand new set of pro parts headers in the box! Got them mocked up on my 400 get a good look at them. Plugs look easy as does the starter but most of all they allow power steering! I will be putting 3/8" spacers in to space them out a bit as they are made for rb motors and hit the pan rail ond the passenger side and are real close to my cal custom valve covers on the drivers side.

Well I am getting back to my Dart again after a long break. I just got this really nice scattershield. The register hole is 4.8 inches which is perfect for my heavy duty A833 with the 308 bearings. Also picking up a Dana 60 housing already narrowed to stock A-body width. I will be driving the car with the small block for most of the year while I find a few more parts and assemble what I have.

Got some work done on the Dana 60 today. The housing ends needed a bit of clearancing to get the backing plates on. I still have to set up the o.e.m. 4.10 gears. Running a powerlock differential.

Used powerlock looks good inside. It came with 35 spline side gears. Needed a good cleaning from sitting around the garage too long.

Been a rough stretch in my life but getting back to building my projects. Going to concentrate primarily on this one. I got a nice used set of 3.73 gears for free out of a ford van that was going to the scrap yard. Just finished setting them up. Need to buy axles now and also weld on the spring perches. The Dana 60 housing is 51 3/16 (about 2 inches narrower than an A-body 8 3/4) from flange to flange. Perches will be 43 center to center. The cover is an original Dana unit I had chomed. I hope to have the big block assembled by spring.
