727 Transmission engine size?

Please forgive my lack of knowledge to the topic here but, is there a difference in the size of bell housing for a 727 meant for a big block and small block?

Yes. They are different. There are threads detailing how to tell the difference.

And there were a few made for slant 6, so there is several. If you are looking at a used trans it might not even fit Mopar. They were made to fit IHJ, Jeep, I don't know what else offhand. So there's at least 5 or 6 different Torqueflite bell patterns.

You don't want either of these, IHC or AMC

They were the best auto transmission out there - why not use them behind other engines too!
