IT is #s original, did not want to pull the cover. Sounds hydraulic. ThanksWell, that is around the time they were phased in, BUT, I will tell you that the original slant six engine in my 79 Volare wagon IS a solid lifter engine. Absolutely NO doubt about that.

You are correct!!! Solid.Remove the oil fill cap, and look at a rocker arm. Adjuster screw or no adjuster screw? If I recall right there is no baffle obstructing the view of the rocker arm.
