I have a 66 Barracuda that has a b and m starshifter, the cable melted very quick from the exhaust, what are you guys running or does any one know a fix?

If it's melted badly, you will need to replace the cable.

It needs to be routed so it's not near the exhaust and you can get insulation to help protect it.

I melted to cables before I bought a longer cable and ran it out the passenger side and across the trans

If you can afford it,buy the B&M "red " cable.(better quality). What works for me: run in a loop, near the trans pan. This way,the cable doesn't bind up & stretch. Zip tie, away from headers.
