carter 1 bbl accelerator spring CLIP????

can't tell my FSM, the retaining clip for this spring on accel pump, missing on builder carb, I see nothing in rebuild clip that would work to retain the spring? can anyone tell me what type clip it takes???? thanks

I can't picture what you are talking about with just text. A pic or two of the actual carb and the FSM page that you are referring to will help us figure out what you are asking.

I did find a holley manual that shows what looks like some sorta spring clip, not in kit, and couldn't find one in the BIG carb cat at the parts store, put it back without it, I don't see how the bowl will vent without it. maybe should just stick it holley 1920's. little hard to find those with rod linkage...... thanks anyway.
