Dome light screw size (length)

I'm not sure I have factory dome light screws and I'd hate to put them up through my freshly painted room.

Anyone know the size of the dome light screws?

Most likely be a philips head screw 1/2" long max. If the existing hole is there, take a piece of steel tie wire shove up the hole till it bottoms out. you now know how long the screws can be.

Been there done that.
Grabbed what I thought was the correct screw.
Nope..
Had to repaint the roof.
