I just installed my first electric choke, and I THINK I'm not worried about the "spare parts" I am left with at the end. I'm posting a lot of pics here with the last one being what was left. The instructions did say that the choke rod typically was not needed to be changed, and the adjusting screw and spring pictured are for marine applications. There was a spring clip left, but the instructions said to re-use and the kit provided one so....

Gonna put a resistor on that? They open way too fast and close too soon on 12v. Went to manual.

Used several of them and never had a problem running it off of 12V as per the instructions. You know they are adjustable (rich/lean) just like any other choke this style?

I hope I don't need a resistor. Instructions from Holley mentioned not running the choke off of the ignition coil as it would cause unsatisfactory performance. It also gave directions on how to make it open and close at different points. I'm a long ways from being able to tune it tho.

Yup, they still open fully too quickly even on full rich; Within 1 minute. Do you really believe your car warms up fully in 1 minute? Falling on it's face until at operating temperature. It isn't like to can 'curve' them to how fast your car REALLY warms up; you can get closeer by adding a resistor or cutting the voltage in say, half. Then they close to quick, causing rich starts when you were in the store getting ice cream.. I'm just saying I haven't had good luck with them, I got tired of dealing with them YMMV.

Not trying to rain on your parade.

Good job brother!

PoisenDart74,
Since we live in the same climate, I am very interested in what you are saying here. What was your carb and when did it give you trouble, winter, summer, all the time?

Look on Ebay for a Mopar electric choke controller. They are nice to have.
